Scotland v Wales

Davies can count himself lucky because it was a moronic thing to do.

Maybe but obviously the citing commissioner felt it was harmless.

The trip looked too intentional to be harmless. I know Jonathan Davies (pundit) was adamant it would look different in real time, but when i first saw it i instantly blurted out "He tripped him!"
I'm shocked he got off Scot free! Eh? You like the pun? He's free for the Scotland game now? Eh? :) Haha!

It doesn't matter if it results in an injury or is harmless. It's about intent.

The citing commissioner more then likely would have had a different opinion had the result been reversed.

The concern would be at tighthead, were Paul James is better than Gethin is at the scrum where he is a stronger scrummager. Mitchell had a decent game against England but you feel the Scottish lose-head will just be all over Mitchell!
Euan Murray is going to be out for blood as well after the French match/getting munched by Domingo, so Paul James is going to have to be very much on his game

Agree mostly with those changes, not Murrays best game in the shirt
Lamont looked hungry when he came on, but might it not be a mistake to start him in a vital defensive and unfamilair position (although the other options are not much better)
Would like Walker out, preferably to Lamont, as the Welsh props (never mind their backs) can run circles around him
Hines was far too slow, and didn't contribute much

Mind Lawson might not be fit for the match, in which case he should only be considered for bench

Nothing else really, however 12 really is a problem- Might he give Jackson a go here? Wasn'y too shabby when he came on, and gives us a second kicking option

It's a good point at no. 12. I think Lamont isn't a stranger to the No. 12 jersey at club level (although I may be totally wrong).

Also agree about Walker, may be made to look even slower by the Welsh. Could Paterson be on the wing? Or maybe R Lamont?

My thoughts on the trip - Looked pretty intentional to me, maybe that's why I'm not a citing commissioner :O)

Current thoughts on the game - Scotland might just be (this is strange to type) the in form team for this one. Wonder if this will have a positive or negative affect on the team?

I think Hook has a future at 10 especially with this move to Perpignan, but there's no way away to Scotland is the right time or place to start doing that again. S.Jones will control the game and that's what you need in this game.

I like the idea of Wales bringing in Faletau at 8 because I'm not sure about RJ, but I know this won't happen.

Scotland looking very good and I'd have to say are favourites.

In what way?

In the way that he's injured?

Powell's out but Jones is fit ... I don't get it!

Jones is Wales best option at 8 anyway, Gatland's mistake was not testing Toby against some sides during the AI's!

In what way?

In the way that they are playing well as a team, their forwards are looking dyanmic and versatile, especially Richie Gray who I've been very impressed with.

Their backs may not have been as incisive as Wales' in recent times but they are showing great improvement as a team, Ansbro is becoming an important midfield figure who can get the backline going forward.

Don't take that as a slight on the weslh team. But i think if Scotland continue where they left off against France then with home advantage they have every chance of winning. That said, if Scotland play a more expansive game and Wales do likewise, the latter have a very good chance of getting something from the game

Is it possible that a rainy day at Murrayfield may just be our undoing?

With regards to the trip, I never saw it but I think it was intentional. :D
No doubt I will be reading an article sometime soon saying "Look how these foreigners (my speeling has been gash today) don't get suspended! If it was a Springbok, he would have got 6 weeks minimum!"
Really pish article in the local rag today saying how SA should no longer have any fear going into the WC, as the 6N teams are all gash, and that France only played well 'cause they played against a poor Scottish team whose only tactic was kick, tackle, grind, kick, etc...

May the sun shine on Saturday in Scotland (except for Glasgow, let the OF rot in the dark)

Thought I might add this quote fae Scottish Rugby

"Today's was our 56th match in the Six Nations competition and it was only the ninth time we had scored three or more tries in a contest.

The three tries today – from captain Alastair Kellock (his first for his country), fellow forward Kelly Brown and substitute Sean Lamont – were the first time Scotland had reached that tally in the competition for four years, co-incidentally also in defeat to France"

Bloody hell
