Ospreys have signed Samoa international George Stowers on a two-year deal from English Premiership side London Irish.

The 32-year-old back-rower, who can play at number eight or blindside flanker, will join the Magners League champions at the end of the season.

"I'm excited about signing for the Ospreys and what looks like an exciting challenge ahead," said Stowers.

"It's a fantastic opportunity for me to be part of a forward thinking and ambitious set-up."

Stowers started his career with Pukekohe in New Zealand before moving on to Counties Makukau and then to the Waikato Chiefs in 2000.

Two years later, he joined Kobe in Japan where he spent seven years signing for London Irish in 2009, making 40 appearances, scoring six tries.

Signed Bearman too? Kept that quiet, or am I just off the pace?

Long standing rumor, nothing confirmed but everything points to he has signed.

Posted in the wrong thread about this, but its so annoying that we're buying "experienced" back rowers and players rather than giving a chance to the guys coming through the ranks. Tupuric and Smith have looked good when they've played this season, so why not show some faith and give them an opportunity to play week in week out, Its good to have competition but its better when its between guys that are eligible to play for Wales surely?
