Ryan Jones has signed a new Ospreys contract keeping him at the region until the end of the 2013/14 season.

And the Wales and Lions back-rower has pledged to see out the rest of his career with the Ospreys.

It is positive news for the Ospreys after the announcements that they were to lose Gavin Henson and James Hook.

"The Ospreys are my region, my team, and that will always be the case even when I've finished playing," said 29-year-old Jones.

Not going to lie but a move away from the Ospreys would have benefited his game.

Was thinking the same thing Cymro. Doubt there would have been many clubs after him though.

Ospreys really need to bring through some young backrow players, as they can't rely on Jones and Thomas who aren't exactly in the greatest of form, and two kiwi's. Tipuric and Ben Lewis are the only two really, although they'll argue there's Tom Smith aswell, but I can't see him as being enything other than a solid squad player.

I know the loss of Hook and Henson are a blow, but had those stayed would Jones have moved on? Just think a change of scene for him and a chance to play at 8 regularly would help his game.
