[RWC2023 QF1] Wales vs Argentina (14/10/2023)

I don't think it was a red. Nick Tompkins was falling and there was mitigation.

Of course all Welsh commentators are screaming for a red.

I think this is the big issue. I can understand the logic too, but another ref would have carded him and possibly even a red.
That's my pet hate in rugby right now, refs all doing their own things.

I don't care if I don't agree with a law, but having all the refs having their own interpretations is killing the game for me.

I get a bit tired of hearing all this great defence most teams don't get away with not being carded for this volume of pens

Wales are notorious for it.

But if they keep getting it away with it, why not.

I don't think it was a red on review for the reasons you state, but it's a yellow and the review process 99/100 in other games.

Is it really good defence when you give away a penalty to achieve it?

You cant help but notice that Wales give away tons of penalties in order to survive on their try line. They basically back themselves to get out of trouble before the 'final straw penalty'. It would be good to see tougher action on this

100% this!
