RWC Fantasy Game

The format is a lot different from what I am used to and stingy as hell! I suppose it'll lead to a lot of variety between players so I'll probably try my hand. I'm just a bit miffed that some of the players seem weirdly 'priced'. I'm struggling to see myself pick some of my favorite Bok players tbh. The cap forces you to look for value. How a guy like Moodie who is barely a man and hardly has a cap all while not garuanteed any time this RWC is priced as highly as he is is beyond me but I suppose if I want to join in the fun I'll just have to suck it up.

I agree to a point … it feels like some players have been priced highly because of the team they play for rather than where their individual value should be. Moodie is one of a few examples.

This does work in reverse though so some good players are at the other end of the scale.

I spent about 20 seconds looking, but I think it could get quite tricky in the latter rounds unless there is a points increase. Seems most of the French and SA teams, for example are priced above 8 (8*15=100). So building a team out of that may need to involve some bench if they are the final, or you may need to hope some low cost teams are in the 3rd/4th play-off. (Could be off with this - I did notice that props were a position that was quite cheap across the board).

Maybe in knock outs there arnt points just max amount of players from each team.

Just realised Uruguay' first game is against France, so is that not classed as round one? As its France's second game? How does this work if we pick Uruguay players round 1

That won't be round 1, so no point

Nah, unlimited changes so they would just be pointless for that round.
Sorry meant rolling lockouts meaning Fra and NZ will be locked but the rest of the team can still be changed for that round. Not sure why i said rolling subs.

Is there a fantasy thingie for the score predictions comp, too? I mean a trf one, obs.

Given the first game is tomorrow i tried to make a 15(tough without all teams annouced) but even so for every top player you have you also have to have an equally bottom player its so tough.

In a good way though i like the challenge that you cant just pick the top 15 players that everyone else picks and thats that. There is actually some skill to it.

Ok well this is a lame feature:
It would be great that, given the 48 hour notice turnaround on teams being announced, that this RWC team would be on top of actually updating who has been picked or not for the games when these teams have been announced. That Argentina team was announced 17 hours ago, but still isn't properly reflecting. Same thing for Australia with 19 hours having passed and 17 hours since the Wales team was announced.

This is fine now(ish) at the start of the tournament, but given they have no bench in this competition and more casual fans aren't going to be willing to look up starting teams, there are going to be a lot of non-playing players picked, or just attrition as people get over it because it is too much of a mission.

I'm doing it on my phone, and transferring players in & out is a royal pain in the arse. Has anyone cracked an easy way to do it?

Not sure, I can't remember anything - a cap in what way?
I never really do fantasy sports so might have been someone else sorting something out?
