I'm looking to start to go to Quins home games, as i seem to be up that way most of the time these days but i also noticed Esher is nearby too.. i'm not sure how easy it is to get hold of tickets for Quins.. wondering if there are any supporters who go on a regular basis?

I don't get to many games apart from the 7's at HQ, so can anyone recommend Esher or ideally Quins, or any other decent team i haven't immediately thought of?

Stoop is a good stadium, normally there'll be spare tickets as it'll get around 90% full.

Make sure you sit on the side though, the end-on view of the pitch is crap.

Ta. Don't suppose i'd get a burger at Esher anyway, more of a lobster panini or something.

Go to both, there's bound to be alternate weeks when one's away and t'other isn't.

I've got a season ticket at Quins and for most of the games there are spare seats, the new stand offers a really good view even if its not always full. Great atmosphere and some quality rugby (sometimes). If you want me to answer any other questions i'll be happy to.

Im thinking to heading to Quins and possibly Sarries to before the end of the season as it's not that far, compared to the other teams, from Southampton by train.

I go to Quins a fair amount all year round, cos there's League there in the summer. Tickets are fairly easy to come by whichever time of year you go - but I'd book ahead for Heineken Cup games. The Stoop's a great little ground, and before the bloodgate saga there was a great atmosphere there, along with a team playing great rugby...

I've been to Esher numerous times to play - there's not much of a stand, just a mound on one side of the ground. I remember watching the Surrey Cup final there, Richmond vs Sutton & Epsom, about 7 or 8 years ago. At half time two young ladies ran diagonally across the pitch topless. Best rugby moment of my life.

Speaking of Richmond - come watch us, we're in Surrey. We play crappy, but occasionally good rugby and are about 8th in National League 3 South, largely because we don't pay players. Still, we've got a 500 seater stand, 2 bars and plenty of parking, so for that level it's a great venue for a spectator.

I went and watched Saints when we played Esher away. Nice little ground, although it feels like it's in the middle of nowhere. A fairly mediocre pub and a greasy spoon cafe are about your only options as far as pre/post-match food and drink ago, aside from the burger van and mobile bar inside the ground.

Not bad for a change of scenery, but I'm not sure I'd want to go there every week.

It is in the middle of nowhere. One of those places (like Watford) that is inside the M25 and therefore in London, but too far away from the action. Just a bunch of reservoirs and shitty suburban houses occupied by the sort of people who put hundreds of illuminated santas outside their house for christmas.

I'm a fan of Richmond, i've been before to play there (Athletic Ground, was it?) in 1997. Was a bit starstruck! One of my fav clubs before their 'demise', If it was nearer i'd go. I'll probably go to Quins. What's parking like there (Twickers is shocking) and what's the cost of a reasonable (but not flash) ticket in the side stands?

I wouldnt recommend going by car, and its not very far at all from Twickenham Station. Tickets your looking at around £25 im guessing, your unlikely to get seats on the side without them being in the corners of the ground, and for big games the sides are usually packed.
