Rugby 22 Career mode question

Hi guys. I'm stumped. I'm trying to play the limited career mode on PS5 Rugby 22. I created my team, selected my squad of 15. But how do I add substitutes to my squad. It seems to let me choose my best 15 from the cards, but I can't see an option to pick more players for my bench. I go to play my first match and it tells me I don't have enough players.
Please heeeeeelp me.
