Hey guys, I'm about to watch last year's Chiefs v Crusaders 1/2F game. I'd really love to watch some SR but can't follow every league for lack of time...could I ask you guys for a few good games from this year's season you'd recommend ? In retrospect, could you propose a few (3-4) matches that stood out ? Thanks guys. LOVE the Super Rugby style, but haven't seen a whole lot more than just YT highlights, if not parts of matches when I can.

EDIT:
here's the list of match results this season, to refresh your memory if need be:

gahh..eh..mm....buh.....focus on Toulouse next weekend profitius, you better !! :p I think the SH'ers are sleeping...OR they reaaaaally don't give a shhit about this request :p

That depends on what you want to see, Big E; if you want to see expansive open play then look at everyone hurting the Cheetahs this year. Reds hosting teh Cheetahs was particularly expansive but the Cheetahs are dropping tackles this year like it's part of their plan.

Waratahs and Hurricanes are playing the most attractive brand of rugby but both got hammered by the Sharks who are using their power up front effectively if that's what you like to see. Blues have the power in the backline that might get your juices flowing with the best being their win over the Crusaders. The two better games ITO the weight they carry rather than their sexyness maybe would be the Bulls vs Sharks games and the Chiefs beating a Crusaders side they had no business to beat on the day with the Crusaders playing all the rugby.

Sharks v Bulls Rd1.
Blues v Crusaders Rd3.

Both would be in my shortlist as well particularly Blues vs Crusader seeing McCaw miss two crucials tackles each leading to a try but TBF I think just about any flanker would get skinned by those wingers and McCaw did well just to be there near enough.

hey stormer. Yeah definitely the expansive style. No offense to SA Rugby, but you understand my intention here. I already got the two matches proposed on here (minus the saffa one). I've watched Saffa Rugby before, a couple of matches. It's cool stuff for sure and if I were to live in S.A. one day I'd submerge myself in it gladly, but I just don't know many players, and am looking for some Oceanic running rugby really. And yes it's true, I've noticed some teams in SR just don't tackle as hard as I'm used to at all, esp. those Aussie ones...it's *almost* like they favor attacking so much they feel like "eh, wtvr, they scored this time but we'll score this next time ourselves..."; like the highest score wins sorta deal. It feels like it, at least, for a NH guy like me. Def. a bigger emphasis on defense up there (and SA too I'd guess).

Check out the Blues', Waratahs' and especially the Hurricanes' games then for sure. The ones they won mind you; the games they lost they were made to look average when facing highly competent defensive sides like the Sharks for instance made the Waratahs and Hurricanes look naive in their approach to rugby; they were stopped out wide and simply could not compete in the tight exchanges with guys like Frans Steyn, Bismarck du Plessis and Willem Alberts.

fkkk, so much stuff. I'll focus on those so far as I'm 'in the process of acquiring them', let's say
- 2013 1/2F Crusaders Chiefs
- 2014 R7 Crusaders Hurricanes
- 2014 R3 Blues Crusaders

Bulls v Chiefs this last weekend was a pretty good watch.

Here's a typical Super Rugby game:

It certainly explains why when the All Blacks play Ireland the All Blacks often get basketball scores and Ireland often get soccer scores ;) :

Back to the original question. It was a couple of years ago (2011), but the Crusaders vs Sharks match in Twickenham is certainly worth watching. The 1st Highlanders vs Chiefs match of 2013 is also worth watching if you are a fan of expansive rugby.

I haven't watched much super rugby this year but I remember the 2011 final being pretty good. The Reds high risk play against the Crusaders clinical phase play was a pretty good contest to watch.
