Great first-half performance, although the second half was dire, I still think that was a pretty good Ospreys showing. I love how the Leinster fans who dominated the thread pre-match haven't posted since. (Not genuinely reading anything into this, just re-reading the thread, and oh how things have swung.)

They were missing fourteen players to Ireland's world cup squad and four more through injury. Eight of the matchday twenty three were making their debut and two of the starting XV didn't even play a pre-season game. Leinster were down to their bare bones. That's taking nothing away from the Ospreys who look to have a very bright future. Getting rid of the Galacticos was a great move.

For Leinster their were some small bright spots. Lots of new players were blooded. Given the disastrous first half, holding the Ospreys scoreless in the second half represents a step up in performance. Hagan, Browne, Toner, Fitzgerald, Kearney, Carr and McGrath put in decent shifts.

Some good tries in the match and it looks like the Ospreys won't be missing the departing players too much. Leinster looked a little disorganised but they came close to scoring a few tries themselves so it wasn't that one sided.

The Ospreys will be disappointed to not have got the bonus point.

I think in this World Cup period the vital thing is win all your home games, try pick a win on road and gayher BP's as much as possible.

Leinster didn't pick a point tonight but well will benefit massively in terms of their younger guys getting experience and well let's not forget the start Leinster had last season.

As for Ospreys they had a good win and well looked like a team more willing to play for the jersey than the attention, they might be a year or 2 off being ready overall but if they can keep this 'togetherness team spirit' and add 1/2 quality additions from the Southern Hemisphere then they could really be a force to be cautious of
