I wouldn't be surprised at all if Munster lost this. Deasy, Archer, Holland and Williams are no where near good enough. The fact that Holland starts over Nagle is fecking scandalous.

This'd be a brilliant result from our point of view.

I'm not watching this or anything, but the text thing I have my eye on says that Archer came off in the 59th minute and in the 60th Munster got a penalty try. Less than surprised.

Aye, and by all acoounts things have got a bit smoother since they took Deasy off.

Finished a few games off the bench that were already won when he came on and suddenly deserves a start? No...not a good idea.

Edit: I suspecrt Holland was starting ahead of Nagle because the backrow was so inexperienced. Still a stupid decision mind.

Mick O'Driscoll seemed to give a penalty away when he went near a ruck by the way

Butler also unimpressive

Zebo looks good with ball but was a liability in defence for the second try

how long until half this team ends up at Connacht?

Munster's second string do seem quite poor if we're being honest. I don't know who's to blame, but they haven't been producing anywhere near as many young players as either Ulster or Leinster. I know numbers must have a litle bit to do with it, but still, they've had very poor representations on the Under 20's for quite a while now.

Totally abject performance from Munster, great result for the Italians though. An awful lot of players showed that they may not be up for it/ready for a higher level of rugby today, which is a great shame.
Tokula looks like a truly uninspired signing as well
I'm just going to rage away for the rest of the day for not watching the first half of the French game instead of that garbage.

If I must say I'm sickened here in Italy. Fair play to Aironi and deserved the victory but a few of our lads totally disrespected the jersey with a lazy sluggish uninterested performance that was disrespectful to Aironi and their teammates. Some fringe players really have to look at themselves as this will really be a sign of they're not at Rabo level and aren't worth the wages

Think the problem with Munsters academy as far as I can make out its that they apparently highlight positions to get players sor instead of doing what Leinster do and simply pick the best players.

it is worth remembering that Aironi were understrength as well, they had 13 players unavailable in the Italy squad

Too right you would. That's a ******'s act and refs should be blowing up to give the penalty it merits far more often. I would be laughing myself sick if that had been penalty reversed - which it should be - and Munster had scored.

Munster are producing young players in fairness. DOC2, Luke O'Dea, Butler, Archer, Sherry, Nagle, Foley, Zebo, Murray, Barnes, POM, all in the last 2 seasons. This loss against Aironi was nothing to do with team quality, it was more to do with players who couldn't be arsed to put the effort in.

While some of those are good young players others are simply young. I mean Archer he's bloody useless and Barnes isn't exactly great either.

Also as Feic said compared to the quality of the Leinster and Ulster players produced in this period they're not great.
