Premiership 24/25 - Round 8

Radwan "tackles" Ewels around the nose, but gets driven back about 7-8 metres, and Charlie gets his first try in 6 years.

Well played Tempest there.
Crowd not happy, but that's just beery bias

Newc 15 - 40 Bath
FT

Really good game from Carpenter considering the conditions,
Decent showing from Rodd too

5pts secured, onto the next one

Nayacalevu definitely not getting his optional year activated, 4 mins today and second game with zero touches of the ball

Bristol's away record is insane. I think I'm going to go all out and tip them to win the Premiership this season.

I'm not a particular fan of Pat Lam's but he's done an amazing job in turning Bristol's fortunes around. At one stage he looked like he was close to being canned but credit to their board for backing him.

Harding is a very underrated player who should be making the England A squad at the very least. Probably fair to say he doesn't have any standout attributes but his all round skill set is very good and he's incredibly consistent.

Some cracking rugby, borderline suicidal defence which has come off as great entertainment.

Saints struggling under the high ball despite the wind advantage.

Still 40min to go!

Yellow card fair for that, I think - very borderline though, and he's stayed down for a long time now, if it were red you wouldn't argue it much

What's people's thoughts on Pearson?
Looked poor in the first half but has picked up a lot since the hairdryer treatment at half time

Hendy has had a mare under the high ball - obviously conditions are poor, but you'd want someone pushing for international honours to do better than this

Agree on Hendy..his England audition hasnt gone well.

I'm still jury's out on Pearson. He has the attributes and skills but I just don't see them together enough. I just always feel like I want to see more from him.

So didn't see much of the game, how bad was it?
Awful conditions at misery HQ but we looked clueless. Our selections seemed muddled and the naughty bench list grows longer by the day.

This time last year I watched a very similar side pump a loaded Tigers. What a difference one year makes.

If we lose at home next week I expect Ali Hepher will get the chop.

I think we need a change, but who would/could we go for? Would it be worth splashing out for a big name coach. To turn it around.

Not sure what the issues actually are tbh though

The wind at the plastic kingdom was shocking. I can't fault Hendy as the ball was swirling all over the shop. There was also dropped balls by a lot of players so not just a Hendy thing. In the second half the wing eased up and both teams managed it better.

Itoje does not come across as a good captain, very indecisive and never seemed to be in control of his team. Hope that's a one off but really wanted him to do well at captain.
