Premiership 24/25 - Round 13

Seen the clip from the end of the Chiefs/Falcons game and can see why Dimes is so mad - very clear red which knocked out cold a Falcons player and the TMO completely missed it

Even taking into account a one-off semi-final, I just can't see Bath not getting to Twickenham, I think the question is who gets to the final with them. I'd love to see either Bristol or Gloucester make it this year. Neither of those two have got to a final at Twickers in yonks.

Baffles me that a TMO will spot a knock-on from 147 phases ago, but delib act of foul play, player knocked out cold and he's oblivious. Makes an absolute sham of the 'trust the process' and no wonder fans call officials biased...

I wouldn't worry about semis….

I've gone back to 2015/6 and only once has the home (i.e higher ranked) team failed to make the final. That was Brizzle in 20/21 and even then that was an Extra Time job. I don't like the play off principle regardless, but when the outcome's pretty much known you have to ask what the point is, bar some gratuitous (and needed) revenue raising.

The final two places are probably between 4 teams (Leicester, Sale, Saracens, and Gloucester). I think Harlequins run in is too difficult although there is a chance of course. Hoping for Gloucester and Sale. It will probably be Leicester and Saracens joining Bath and Bristol. :(

I know I'm disagreeing with the bookies, but I think Gloucester have a really good chance.
They can rip anyone to shreds, they're on a good run of form, and their run-im includes 4 of the bottom 4 teams in the Prem.

I don't bet myself but I really like your analysis. 👊 Alright Cherry & Whites!

That Gloucester percentage is ridiculous considering their run in - think they'll get at least 3 BP wins, and are likely to get 1 or 2 points in any loss
They've got Sarries, Quins, Chiefs, Falcons, Saints

We've got Quins, Sarries, Tigers, Bristol, Chiefs - I could see us getting one win out of that

Guess all those years choking is taken into account

I wonder who that one win will be...

Somebody's got to do it:
Bristol - Tigers (H) 5, Saints (A), 2, Bath (Cardiff), 4, Sale (A), 0, Quins (H), 5 - 62 points
Tigers - Bristol (A) 0, Quins (H) 5, Sale (H), 1, Bath (A), 1, Falcons (H), 5 - 53 points
Glos - Saracens (A), 1, Chiefs (H), 5, Quins (A), 5, Falcons (A), 5, Saints (H), 5 - 62 points
Sale - Quins (A), 0, Saracens (H), 4, Tigers (A), 4, Bristol (H), 5, Chiefs (A), 2 - 54 points
Saracens - Gloucester (H), 5, Sale (A), 1, Falcons (H), 5, Saints (A), 5, Bath (H), 4 - 59 points
Quins - Sale (H), 5, Tigers (A), 1, Gloucester (H), 2, Chiefs (H), 5, Bristol (A), 1 - 51 points

1. Bath
2. Gloucester (points diff)
3. Bristol
4. Saracens

I could go along with most of that. Quins rarely lose the Twickenham games though so I'd fancy us for a win vs. Gloucester in the 'Big Summer Kick Off'.

It's all so unpredictable though. Almost impossible for any team to build momentum when they're flip flapping between wins and losses each week.

Even if you look at the results you've predicted there it's:

Bristol: W L W L W
Tigers: L W L L W
Gloucester: L W W W W
Sale: L W W W L
Saracens: W L W W W
Quins: W L L W L

Gloucester have only put together a run of 3 wins once this season. They've massively improved but finishing the season with 4 on the spin is a bold prediction.

Similarly, 3 wins in a row for Sale has only happened once so far for Sale and Saracens.
