Info required on Piula Faasalele...

He is from New Zealand but is he elligible for Tonga.... I am guessing he is of Tongan decent.

He plays in France for La Rochelle and will start at 8 vs Agen this weekend.
 
Typical island loose forward; hit puberty at 10, bigger and more powerful than anyone else on the field growing up but relied on that too much and didn't develop the skill set needed to progress beyond national age grade stuff in NZ. Solid player mind, wont let you down and you definitely dont want to see him standing there if youre running towards him ball in hand.
 
Sweet, that game was scheduled in my agenda, will keep an eye on him.

Is he Tongan or Samoan?

If Tongan then he looks set for a place in the RWC squad. If Samoan... I doubt they would need him.

I think hes both but im not 100%. The Tongans also look to have secured Joe Tuineau which is a massive boost, they could really do with all the players they can get
 
I remember Faasalele playing as a lock for the NZ Under 19 team (5-6 years ago), so I'm assuming he must be pretty tall (possibly a good lineout option). Can't remember anything about him though..

Yeah I saw Tuineau decided to declare his allegiance to Tonga (he was also eligible for USA, Fiji, and NZ) - he will certainly be a valuable player for them.
