Pitch invasion

But it also brings up the issue of players' safety - this was brought up recently when Frank Lampard nearly got assaulted by that renegade Spurs fan. I know what you're saying but Charlie is right - pitch invasions should not happen in this day and age.

And Still a Criminal Offence...

So if a little kid was to run up and stab you that would be cute and innocent?

Or Nick a Packet of Sweets from a shop?

But nothing bad happened, it was just a really nice moment...hence my reaction & wanting to share it with folk.

It's fair to say that there aren't enough moments like that in modern sport.

Remember this :

Pure unadulterated joy at little old Hereford doing that to Newcastle United. When it's in the right spirit these things are great, great moments. I'm not saying let's all do it, I'm not saying it's great whenever it happens...I'm just saying when it does happen in the right way it's fantastic.

Ya Croke Park after an All Ireland final, or just a pitch after a big match is covered with people, the hop the wall thing and everyone runs on, it's a bit dangerous but, no big deal (not really anyway) the Aussies got a a bit of a fright there in the Internationals when all the Irish fans came on and started running towards them.

They tried to stop it before and it does not work. It's tradition.

Sorry to resurrect this topic but I was looking for this picture at the time :

Now that's what a sigh of relief looks like.

Everton (Safe) won 9, drew 13, lost 16. 40 pts, goal difference -15
Bolton (Relegated) won 9, drew 13, lost 16. 40 pts, goal difference -20

Nope, I don't see Nathan Blake's wrongly disallowed goal anywhere in the melee ;)

i think people should be allowed on the pitch after a big win like one that clinches the premier league, or one that helps a team survive from relegation.

just make sure the losing team can get off the pitch through police escort and it should be alright, here they dont need to do that the players from the opposing team can usually just make their way through the crowd safely.

I daresay you don't see the clear foul on Big Nev either ;)

It's funny how that 'goal' is always held up as a classic example of why video evidence is needed but not one pundit has ever pointed out the foul on the keeper.

To be fair RBS I haven't seen that goal for years - when it gets trotted out next I'll have to look for that.

Well just had one happen at the South Africa vs Samoa game...

he was evading them quite well until he slipped...

You like to think so, but there are so many arseholes about that there's always someone who's attack the players, be it for either the opposition or even their own team.
