Former Argentina and Stade Français scrum half Agustin Pichot should soon start training again with the Parisian club.

According to ERC Rugby Pichot comes back to Stade Français as additional player to replace Terry Bouhraoua who suffered from a shoulder injury and will play again with his former teammates mid-February in the Top 14 Orange.

The Argentine wore the Stade Français Paris jersey for three years, won the Top 14 with the club twice both in 2004 and 2007, and took part in the lost Heineken Cup final against Toulouse in 2005, in Edinburgh.

The Pumas skipper was one of the key players who helped achieve the third position in the World ranking following the latest Rugby World Cup in France.
Eliminated of the Heineken Cup for the second year in a row, the Stade Français managers now hope that the leadership qualities of Pichot will give a new dynamic in the Paris team.

This is great news :bravo:

Looks like all the "retired" scrum halfs are returning to the game, first Justin Marshall and now Agustin Pichot, next thing we know Gregan will be returning to the Brumbies and Joost van der Westhuizen to the Bulls

Hm, that is good news as he's the most passionate player in the game.
Still, I wouldn't say Parisse's captaincy is the root of Stade's problems. Don't forget he's made Italy look like a quality side over the past two seasons. I don't think his leadership skills are the cause of Paris' cock-ups these past two years... Pichot's still class though, and it's not like Paris have an abundance of quality nines...

Yes he is a very passionate player and has to be one of the greatest top five scrum halfs thats has ever played this game, his experience and leadership skills will definitely boost Stade Français

Alexandre Albouy was a french international but his progression was slowed by many injuries. Still a good club player. Oelschig was a solid player in Super 14, and a solid Top 14 player too from what I saw . That's maybe not international standard but we can't have the best players on earth at every lines...

Concerning Pichot, his form was terrible on his last season with Stade, injured all the time and only a handful of good game... including the final, thankfully. Heard that he wasn't very good too with the Racing last year. This is well know that he never worked his shape that much and after a rugby break of 6 months i'm afraid he might be unable to play at his past level. But we never know with Pichot, he has such a mental strongness... and he can definitively have a good impact on the group, and particulary Hernandez who's lost in the shuffle at the moment. Is not the messiah but maybe he can help us to get reach the Top 14 final again... but won it will be another story !

Nice return by Pichot against Montauban. He still has his charisma, his natural autority around the rucks... and his habitily to talk with the referee. Nice pass too. The only question is his shape, I'm not sure he's able to play for 80min.
