France Post-WC discussion

Plisson is a decent backup at fly-half and he's young, he'll have time to learn to cope with the pressure if he's selected regularly. Really excited about Dubois as well, and I agree that Danty and Burban must be into the squad, the starting XV even, one was the best center in the Top 14 last season and the other the best flanker, anybody but PSA would have taken them to the World Cup. Burban is a complete flanker who can run the ball and would be complementary along a defensive flanker of the like of Leroux or Dusautoir. Danty is a gem, he's powerful, explosive and fast and can pass the ball smartly, I absolutely agree, raring to see him in a blue (not red) shirt.

We've got clearly no issue with a shortage of quality players, upcoming or seasoned ones. Same for assistant or specialist coaches.

If you add up the names in this thread how many do we get? about 30? More than enough. The RWC has thrown up some exciting youngsters (see above Jedrasiak, Chat etc). Question is what are they going to do with them? will their clubs step in and protect their players? will they play ball with Noves?

Real issue is not the players individually but the environment they will operate in (the dreaded Marcroupis) and how much access Noves will have to them.

With the Union election of 2016 and little reform on the horizon, I would expect politics to screw up the national team that bit more - if that's even possible. Rock bottom for 2016 is my informed prediction. It may get worse before it gets better...

Skrela lol, you are so so so so right. After such results in 7, how can he not be under pressure?
He is even more responsible as the DTN he was.
DTN are supposed to be deciding all concept of futur national rugby.

Skrela is like many union people he is a parasite living off the beast.

It's hilarious to think they have someone officially in charge of 'Le haut niveau' when the real expertise is with the clubs. The playing and coaching talent, S&C expertise are all at the clubs, not with FFr. It is the clubs that recruit, develop and coach. Not FFr.

The union are self-proclaimed experts in pro rugby but they actually do Not have the expertise for it. Dunyach is nearly 70! He's never coached nor played at pro level. He's never been part of a professional environment. How does that make him an expert about 'Le haut niveau'?!

It's FFr that should be looking to employ club people and tap into the club resources. Not the other way round! A case in point was Schmidt and Cotter. The union should have approached them with a coaching job offer when they were still in the country.

The national team should be taken away from FFR. They're an amateur org that does Not possess the skills to manage a team of professional players. With very few exceptions, they don't have the professionally qualified people for it.
