Theres whisper Peter Grant may leave the republic and the stormers to play for the force.
Does anyone know if he's out of contract after this season?

I actually rate him at 10 and have been amazed with south africas infatuation with part time fly halves for national selection and overlooking grant.

I wouldnt mind if it turns out to be true......be better then recruiting someone like tony brown.

Cape Town â€" The Western Force are lining up Stormers flyhalf Peter Grant as a replacement for Matt Giteau next season.

Grant's parents recently moved to Perth and the Force have apparently identified the Springbok as a potential replacement for Giteau, who is heading back to the Brumbies.

Grant's agent, Chris de Beer, confirmed he had been contacted by representatives of the Force.

"I'm expecting an offer in writing next week," said De Beer.

He also confirmed French club Racing Metro had followed up their interest in Grant with a formal offer. It is believed to be the biggest offer yet for a South African player.

Grant's contract with Western Province expired at the end of the season. He has previously showed that money is far from his only consideration by turning down an offer of R10-million over three years to play in Japan.

However, his resolve may be tested once more as Racing Metro are prepared to pay significantly more than that, while the Force are also believed to be prepared to pay good money for the man who won his duel with Giteau against the Force last year.

Grant is one of several WP stars whose contracts expire this year and the Cape rugby union has a fight on its hands to retain its top talent.

It was revealed this past week that hooker Schalk Brits will be joining Saracens.[/b]

So much for the Force getting 'the best in the world' to replace Gits.

peter grant has already played for the springboks meaning he is ineligible for wallibies duty. this means under current laws he would be unable to play for an australian super 14 province unless he qulaifies under the marquee player exception. however the rule states that every province can only have one marquee player and the force already have a marquee player in ben castle. so i don't see how they will be allowed to sign grant...

so i just found out that ben castle has apparently left the western force and signed with newport gwent. so if the force want to sign peter grant next season then good luck to them..

I'm sure once I find out who Peter Grant is I can jump around and coo like a little girl.

You sure? Daniel Braid has several All Black caps and he plays for the Reds.
