The Ospreys have released winger Jonny Vaughton, prop Ross Davies, hooker Ed Shervington and scrum-half Liam Davies.

Vaughton, 28, is the most experienced of the four, having made 63 outings for the Ospreys - scoring 11 tries - since signing from Cardiff Blues in 2005.

Shervington, 25, is an academy product and has made 38 appearances since his debut in 2006.

Liam and Ross Davies both depart after just a season with the Ospreys, having signed for the region last summer.

Scrum-half Liam Davies signed from French side Brive, making four appearances in the early part of the season before going on loan to London Welsh.

Tight-head prop Ross Davies made just two appearances after signing from Sale Sharks, before a fractured fibula and ligament damage ended his season prematurely.

Disappointed to see Shervington go ... the lad preformed quite decently when he was called upon. Ross Davies looked a good prospect and I would not be surprised if someone like the Blues or Dragons pick him up. I also think Liam Daives was harshly treated I hope that the Blues pick him up to add some strength and depth at number 9.

Very odd to see Shervington go. Thought he performed very will when given his chance. Potential to be a better player than Bennett! Also from watching Ianto's yack thing on youtube, he came across as a great squad member, very funny and great banter.

Liam Davies has been harshlyb treated, someone snap him up!

Sad to see Liam Davies let go he played really well when he had a couple of games earlier on in the season,a far better scrum half than Nutbrown.

On a slightly different note. Vaughton has gone, yaaaaay, rejoice! :)

Suppose they were surplus to requirements at the Ospreys what with the quality in their squad. I suppose if any of them are any good then its the Osprey's loss and another club's gain.

I don't get the Shervington thing either. He looked decent when he played for us, and by all accounts he was the spirit of the Ospreys squad... Not great him going =/ And he's replaced by Mefin Davies! Weeeeyuurrrrdd.
Apparently Liam Davies had an attitude problem which the coaches weren't prepared to put up with, which is a shame because i thought he performed well when played as well.

On the other hand, Vaughton going has made my summer.
