This is footage from the Canadian Football Leagues opening week(I have thought of starting a CFL thread at some point) Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Winnipeg QB Buck Pierce gets utterly destroyed by Ticats DE Jamal Johnson who was left unblocked at the line of scrimmage, amazingly Pierce was only out of the game for a couple of minutes and managed to lead Winnipeg to a somewhat ugly 24-16 win.

Massive hit.

Shame he had to tun off celebrating like he was Alan Shearer though.

Maybe if he didn't have a helmet on he'd have seen it coming. I think it only looks as bad as it does because the guy got blindsided.

Rememeber watching this on TV at the time.

That's more like it. All the American football clip did was make me laugh :p

What American football clip? This is a Canadian Football League clip, actually a much different rule set.

I think you have a point Stormer about it looking worse by being blindsided, but I'd point out that players in gridiron football would regularly die on the field if they didn't wear helmets. The power of a Gridiron hit like that is akin to that of a car accident. Luckily the guys don't get tackled or hit with that force often in a game.

football is a collision sport
rugby is a contact sport

Aww gaw, whatever mate.

he is correct it is a different sport, played by differnet shapped men. Much like League and Union. The rules and number of players on the field are different, different size field, ball...etc, much much different.
