I did indeed say I thought Rugby 2004 was pretty good when I played the demo....

If you remember, the demo had NO commentary, and only one camera angle (The same one as the behind view on JLR) and it looked pretty good when offloading on that cam.

Also, the demo only allowed you 4 minutes play time.

I did, however, correct myself after playing the full game...... UGHHHHHH!!!!!

Rugby Challenge 2006, for me, was better in multiplayer than Jonah Lomu Rugby..... now that's saying something.

Knowsleyroader loved the single player too, he said the AI was superb.

Good to hear from you Locks - were there any concerns you had when playing the game??

good to see you back posting Los Lover mate your view is almost always different to eveyone elses. Los swordfish defintely aren't getting free advertsing they are paying for this forum. ( I am pretty sure this has been covered before). Swordfish also let locksley play the game which has provided us with good info and also Trev & Ian have answered most of our questions. The lack of gameplay footage is bit of a problem but at least locksley and knowslyroader have played it for a good period of time.

yes that is great, but how hard would it be to let others play and give their view. of course it would be hard for those in the SH but i am sure we could find a way.

Got to respect the guys from Sworfish for at least having a website and forum for us to air our views! I for one will not be getting to excited either and will fall in to the category of holding thumbs and this time being a little more pessimistic than optimistic.

The previous games have all been big let downs but I think they will always be in some respects until "maybe PS3". Rugby games would be by far the hardest of all sport ***les to programme for with the rules, 1000`s of different animations and the amount of players on the screen at one time etc. fifa have been trying for years with 10 times the budget and still can`t get it right and lets be fair Proevolution football sims are out there on there own as I reckon they have some genius programers.

Will wait to hear your guys reaction about the game after a couple of weeks, as who better can inform me about how good the game is I mean everybody on this forum is perfect
<

Yes I will be pessimistic as well i think... despite the fact i am hoping for a good game, but doesn't mean i am looking on the bright side.

I remember Rugby 2005, Locksley said it was amazing and a really good game, I didnt buy it - I wrote about how poor I expected it to be on the forums and got slated for it. I was right in the end.
Really?

And yet, the thread I quoted you on was one started by yourself AFTER the game came out.

What part of your quote...

...do you not realize contradicts with what you were saying BEFORE the game came out...

Fair enough, but I just don't what people to be coming on here in a months time having a go, saying how much they feel let down by EA Sports yet again because they have been expecting so much.

<

Saying the game is better than I thought is no good argument America. I thought the game would be awful, it isnt awful, but it aint that good. You see what I was saying.

The graphics are good - like I said before I played it. I cannot see the contradiction you point out, saying

"Fair enough, but I just don't what people to be coming on here in a months time having a go, saying how much they feel let down by EA Sports yet again because they have been expecting so much."

and "The game is a lot better than I expected" bears no contradiction in my mind.

It appears you were quick to show my post about the good graphics, but not prediction before hand. I hope everyone who reads this topic can see I was telling the truth.

So, when you say things are a lot better than you expect them to be, you really mean that they aren't that good at all.

I f***ing quit.

sean43 don't mean to gang up on ya but when you say the game was "very very good" how can that translate to "ain't that good"?

wat he said!

Yeah, pretty tough to come back from that one, but good on ya for havin a go, id still be hiding.

Sean said he dosent want people coming on here in a couple of months and whinging, is rugby coming in a couple months? or is that the psp one (which is definately just going to be 2005 repackaged) if so whens 2006 for PS2, Xbox,PC coming, wont it late next year? if so its probably a bit premature for any disscusion!!

A lot better than I expected

I expected = Another awful game
I got = Not a bad game, but not the best from EA

Cannot you see that America? TRF Best in arguments, you quit! So much for that ***le

Thought I'd post for a change...

To go back to the original subject, I for one think this game is going to be ok but I would warn against getting too excited. I was wetting my pants before Rugby 2005 and was sorely disappointed. There's something about EA Games that really annoys me.
<

The first WCR was good in my opinion, at least original but ultimately too simplistic and it became very repetitive. Fingers crossed the WCR2 has some longevity because I liked the style of the original over the rubbish that EA churn out.

The reason he quit is because you seem unable to understand the fact that you completely contradicted yourself. Your argument has no legs to stand on.

You said you told people on this forum that this game would be bad. You then claim you were right. Captain america revealed a post by you that says the game is better than expected, and that you ALSO think it is VERY VERY GOOD( further on in the same line.)

You got caught telling porkies, and your just making yourself look worse trying to justify it by talking crap, let it go.

I also revealed a post which said not to get your hopes up about this game, when I played the PC version I said it was better than I expected. I also said that I didnt want the people who were having a go at me coming on the board saying how dissappointed they were with Rugby 2005 when I had told them, and they had slagged me off.

They did come back and complain, and I was eventually proved right about my 1st post. My 2nd post seems to have been twisted into something I did not say = "The game is better than I expected" I expected the game to be awful, it was better.

No gameplay footage (regardless of whatever reason you have been distracted by or smacked around the head and srupefied with) - means SHITHOUSE. I hope I'm wrong I honestly do..
You are wrong ! If you saw some footage of this game in motion, you would need to spend some serious time on the SHITHOUSE !

Actual gameplay footage would be without doubt the best in game rugby footage you would have seen to date and by some margin I might add.

Unbelieveable, im going to have to join captain america on this one.

I F**KING QUIT as well.
