NH vs. SH clash in the final, no matter what!!!!

The winner of Wales/Ireland making the final on the nh side.

On the sh side anyone of the 3nations could get through.

For the final NZ to win if playing, SA to win if playing Wales but loose to Ireland, Aus to loose to Ireland and Wales.

So I reckon it's 50/50 on which hemisphere wins at this stage.

i predict a ireland vs nz final or england vs south africa final if wales beat ireland.

Wales to beat Ireland. England to beat France. South Africa over Oz. NZ over the Argies.

NZ will win easily against Argentina, all other quarters will be close affairs.

In the semis it will be Wales over England and South Africa to beat New Zealand. As much as I really really really hope we beat the yappies I just don't think it will happen without Carter.

South Africa over Wales in the final. You heard it here first.

Question: why are most picking Ireland over Wales? Just because of the win v Aus? I think Wales are looking like a complete side and very capable of beating all of the NH sides. Brilliant thing too - nice to see some proper rugby from up north.

You came so so close to making a good post, before being a numpty right at the end

Yeah yeah, I know. But come on guys, can you blame me. As much as I might wish it weren't so, England, Scotland and France have been playing some pretty dire stuff. Ireland played a very limited game very well to beat Australia. Good luck to them.

But what really attracts me to the sport of rugby is the combination of the the various facets with the 2 most exciting being scalpel sharp back play and ***anic physical contests up front. Only Wales from the north at the moment seem to have any commitment to seriously cutting back play. I would really love to see a New Zealand Wales final where the contest would be more than 1-dimensional, which I fear is what a lot of the other combinations will provide.

So sue me.

Unfortunately attractive rugby doesn't always equate to winning rugby. It would be nice if the more expansive teams made the final and put on a good spectacle for a change.

i hate to say this , but i think Ireland will rip wales a new one :( excited about every up coming game though !! gonna be a very exciting quarters/semis/final

This arguement always gives me a chuckle.

Please note that this arguement is all based on stereotypes of how each country plays as that's the only way in which this is ever argued.

Wales and France have always played a dynamic expansive sort of game. Scotland have almost always played a dull and boring one. England played a forward dominated game for about 5 years between 2003 and 2008....besides that they usually play a very balanced game. Ireland don't know what they're doing. So lets say 2 of 5 play the stereotypical borin rugby.

In the SH, one third of the teams is renowned for playing a forwards orientated game. So it's pretty much a third in either hemisphere (of the major teams). Add in Argentina and Italian stereotypes and you get exactly half in each hemisphere.

When it comes to club rugby it can be incredibly varied within each country and anyone who watches a proper sample of Heineken Cup rugby will be well aware that it's far from boring.

Edit: How easily was I reeled in eh? The colour of this font is 'Light Salmon'

Ireland V Wales is going to be the best game of the tournament so far. Both teams are starting to peak, and watching Ireland all the way through they are getting better and better each game. They have not yet peaked. Also, Ireland are playing the game of rugby 50% on the pitch, the other 50% is being played off the field and on the note book. Their manager, Kidney, watch him. He is by far the smartest manager in any sport I've ever seen. I really think that if Ireland beat Wales, they will make the final. I dont think NZ will make the final, I think SA will. Australia could have and should have one big game in them though... best world cup so far!

well wales have beaten namibia fiji and samoa and lost to south africa theyve hardly achieved a great deal in terms of opposition despite winning most of these games well enough thats not to say i dont think wales are a bad side they just havent really achieved greatly yet

Wales > Ireland. England > France. NZ > Argentina. Australia > SA.

England > Wales. NZ > Australia.

NZ > England.

They narrowly lost by a single point to the #2 team in the world. Ireland beat the #3 team in the world (but were a bit sloppy against the USA admittedly). In the mean time, the other two teams on their side of the bracket have looked sloppy and less than clinical. I don't blame anyone for thinking the winner of Ireland vs. Wales will be the northern hemisphere's representative in the final.

On a side note, please learn what a full stop is before posting again.

When Ireland played Australia they were number 2 in the world, the loss knocked them to 3 and vice versa with Wales against S.A.

I don't necessarily like the guys, but it doesn't matter whether I do or not, they will be in the final because they know how to win. It doesn't matter if they are losing right until the very end they know how to win. It doesn't matter that the game looks real tight and they're losing 9-0 at halftime then losing 15-9 with a minute to go, they know how to win.

I'm talking about frickin' England, these dudes know how to win, and they don't care if they have to play unexciting rugby, they know how to win.

England - New Zealand Final.

really hope that Ireland or Wales can punch through that ceiling they seem to have at WCs. They can do it in the 6N (beat France/England) but something psychological comes in at World Cups. Of course one of them will get a shot at either England/France (probably Ire-Eng imo). In any case, would be great to have Ireland or Wales in the final for a change.

Would LOVE to see Wales in the final! It'd be a win even if we lost! I reckon if we played SA in the final we could actually grab it, we should of had it in the pool stages but were unlucky (Don't even attempt to troll XD) COME ON WALES

If Wales reach the finals and they have to play SA, IMO they wouldn't stand a chance. SA's are made to play RWC's and Finals. They win the game and close it out. Without risking much.
