Watching a replay of the Cowboys Texans game, and by my count Okoye has 1 sack, 6 tackles and nearly got another sack (the pressure for which led directly to a turnover TD).

He looks miles better than he has at any point previously... could easily see someone picking him up if he does get cut. Which is surprising, given where he was only a couple of weeks ago.

Sounds good, they playing him at DT or DE?

Still willing to consider trades to people who couldn't make the draft. (I'd like to point out that I'm NOT willing to trade my 2nd choice WR for a rookie, to someone who already has OBJ in their team :p)

This is my Fantasy team:

1 Adrian Peterson (Min - RB)
2 Rob Gronkowski (NE - TE)
3 Russell Wilson (Sea - QB)
4 A.J. Green (Cin - WR)
5 Matt Forte (NYJ - RB)
6 Allen Robinson (Jac - WR)
7 Doug Martin (TB - RB)
8 Keenan Allen (SD - WR)
9 Demaryius Thomas (Den - WR)
10 Seattle (Sea - D/ST)
11 Steven Hauschka (Sea - K)
12 Drew Brees (NO - QB)
13 Thomas Rawls (Sea - RB)
14 Randall Cobb (GB - WR)
15 Sammy Watkins (Buf - WR)

What do you think?

Carolina defense with a turnover, Kelvin Benjamin with a TD catch. Good start and already 21 points halfway through the 1st quarter

Broncos D and Von Miller surely racked up a lot of points. Great game to start season.

Here in the US most people aren't thinking too highly of it... All the talks about the league caring about concussions and cam newton is left on the field only to be forced to go under concussion protocol before going to talk to the media

Yeah, that was the talking point, Cam was targeted all game, few helmet to helmet hits not called, the last one was the worst, the one that did gets called gets wiped out, wrongly in my opinion, by an intentional grouding. Then they leave him in because the game is close is wrong, they mentioned on comms that while they have an neuro trauma specialist there, they dont get the final say on players being in or out of a game.

Other than that it was a good game, Denver weren't as bad on offence than I thought they would be, whilst he made some errors and picks, Siemian had a decent game and showed some potential.

I thought that the neuro specialist had final say. Cam was definitely goosed. But I thought it was a game of defensive display. Siemian wasn't bad but they badly need a QB who knows the league if they're to challenge again.
I can't see either team going as far as last year anyways.

Nope, the independant specialists performs the tests, offers the trainers their opinion but they can be overruled by the trainers. Though I dont think Cam even underwent that test, most of his treatment was for his back.

Was a bit disappointed by the Bronco's D. They're good enough to not have to resort to Saints tactics.
Impressed by the rookie QB, he's got one hell of an arm on him at short range, but confidence took a few hits. CJ showing why people always expect so much of him every season (before he get's injured in round 3).

Hey, that was a few years ago, if you want cheap shot artists look at Seattle and Cincinnati

That Saints 'tactic' was so consistent though, and the Bronco's D seemed to attempt it almost every play today as well. Very disappointing, hope they don't continue like that or they'll lose a lot of the fan base they picked up when 18 moved there.

A good week for competitive matches so far and all people are still talking about is the anthem crap, I bet the US sports shows are going crazy still.

Side note: why don't people sign along to the anthem?

because the anthem and the flag in america have just become an overused branding image

i think a silent majority of americans would really appreciate if we turned down our "patriotism" down about 300%

That would still leave it at a respectable 700%.

I never understood the point of playing it before every sports game, makes zero sense who else does that?

Cause if we are not constantly told how important it is that we are Americans we might realise that we are just another country

I have heard the anthem over 2,400 times in my life and said the pledge of allegiance about 2300
Every day from k-12 I had to do both
I know a lot of schools only made you do pledge of allegiance
I'm at the point where I get upset if I have to stand for it... I get the point now lol

Was gutted following the Saints game. Started well, Bress and the offence did all they could but the fact the defence couldnt stop the pass or the run was depressingly inevitable. And now we've lost Breaux for 6 weeks.

Could be a long year, though I won the fantasy matchup and left 56.60 points on the bench

Cooks was lit though.

Wait why did saints promote the assistant defence coach, it was crap last season?

No complaints with the offence, Cooks was indeed lit, Snead had a great game, Thomas looked promising and Brees was Brees.

I know, if this carries on there will be big changes needed not only to coaching but to personnel and wages. Has Byrd even begun to justify his salary?
