NFL Thread

Genuinely,

I know there's the stories of Wilkinson and O'Gara getting approaches in the past, but i'm surprised that more RU kickers aren't approached by the NFL.
They seem to have far more distance and accuracy on their kicks, and would be better tacklers on any returns. Probably be cheaper considering the wage difference between NFL and RU, as well.

The O'Gara one was completely made up by him.

Overall this is a fairly boring match, might leave it in a bit.

Same,

I keep thinking "it's only 15mins to go" but with American Football it'll be double that, easy.

Can't stand Peyton Manning :(
Can't stand Denver, don't care about Carolina, so I did not even bother watching this one. So you guys say I did not miss anything ? :)

Like 8 minutes left on the clock 4th quarter and it want worth getting to the end

Terrible game with surprisingly poor display offensively from Panthers. Delighted for Manning but hope he retires now as he will never go out on such a high. He is 1 of the GOAT.

I'm intrigued that you guys didn't like this game. It suited my taste because I don't like excessively offensive games, and I felt that the officiating was some of the best I've seen in perhaps years out of the American game. Was it all the turnovers? Because if so, I see that as outstanding performance by the defense and necessarily poor play by the offensive players. Peyton Manning's interception by Kony Ealey was pretty egregious; that ball was thrown well behind an otherwise very open receiver.

In the end, Cam Newton never had a chance. I know it's silly of me, but I really appreciate that you took the time to watch :)

I didn't hate the game - Dever's defence was a joy to watch.

As a very casual fan, though, I like to see more big passes and big runs.

Two best D's in the NFL. Great to see 18 go out with another ring. I'm sure Cam will get a ring at some point.

On this. The officiating was good but the first TD was as a result of a bad call.
On last bit. Broncos D was amazing too to keep Cam quiet but Miller really flustered him and possibly showed how teams should play against Cam.

I didn't hate it as such.

The defensive play was brilliant. Saw some of the best Linebackers dominant in Miller and Kleuchy

BUT I felt that

1) Peyton isn't the force he was.
2) Newton panicked under the pressure and couldn't handle his O-Line being wrecked.

And both stopped it from being a true classic SB.

It needed a Rodgers or a Brady type to grab it by the balls and challenge the defences more IMO.

It would be like watching England V South Africa in rugby IMO.
