NBC screws US viewers

How much is Universal Sports?

I think the TV service is free to air, I get it on my digital aerial television(which oddly enough gets channels like this that my satellite dosen't), but that all the games won't be shown on this as. M Two One said and that the others will be available only via extremely expensive streaming. I think he posted a link to which matches are available and which aren't.

Building the sport in the States doesn't happen by making RWC available only to people who are already fans and would pay for Setanta - an exceedingly small number.

Getting the sport in front of people who would otherwise never take an interest in Rugby via terrestrial broadcast in North America is a big step. Getting it on a channel that will reach a wider audience than Setanta - mostly people who are already rugby fans is another.

I don't agree with this at all. You're basically writing that dishing out $124.99 right now to avoid paying as high as $150 to watch online only is better than paying $15 for Setanta in order to watch all of the games in HD on television. Some might think, okay maybe I can order a single match to avoid the high fee. I'm not going to pay $24.99 per match.

Setanta may have not been the best answer four years ago for the reason you have mentioned, but charging people an arm and a leg to watch the cup ONLINE through streams is almost as bad as just leaving out the matches all together. Universal is not even available to everyone depending on their provider, so that alone is already as it was four years ago with Setanta.

How is any of this going to help the sport in this country? It doesn't.

Us NZers can't even watch our teams play live on FTA unless we pay $50 a month. :(
