Melbourne Wins Super 15 licence.

Well done to Melbourne Rugby, would have been nice to have another SA team in Super Rugby but I think its also fair for Australia to have 5 teams in Super Rugby along with 5 SA and New Zealand teams. The Southern Kings will join Super Rugby in due time when they make it the Super 18 or Super 20 or whatever...

Damn ! I love the colour O'Neil's face goes when he doesn't get his way. Missed out on that now.
Just love the idea of pi..ing off the Aussies regardless of the logical reasoning behind the allocation.
See when it comes to decisions that might not go in favour of Australia, they don’t give a damn
about logic, alls they see is that it does not benefit them so to hell with logic.

My reasoning re. this issue was the same : s c r e w australia and any logic, as long as it benefits SA.

Hope they pick a few Argentinian, Pacific and maybe some USA players, they are trying to push for 10 over seas players at this point.

Don't worry mate JON has your back ..... oh wait that's not a good thing. Anyway JON is bleating on about protecting the existing franchises and allowing 10 foreign players into the Melbourne Pantywaists or whatever they are going to be called. So there's another 20 odd Aussie club players up to S14 hanging about apparently.

As stated previously the S15 is going to crash and burn imho, only game that will interest me is the Tabs v Reds ...

Excited to see this new Melbourne team, Melbourne has done well in League, let's see what they do to Rugby!

The post must require a lot of intelligence in order to decipher. Can I ask, Voyager where you are from and how old you are? Because first you claim Aussies can't reason if the point is against them, which your profile shows you are Australian, and your making a statement in which has more grammatical, punctuation and spelling errors then any of the previous Australian posters...it is slightly confusing what message you are trying to convey, it is the equivalent as saying "you is stupid".

:bravo:

Any predictions on who the new coach will be? Michael Cheika is leaving Leinster in a few months time so he must be in with a shout. I wonder if he'll bring Rocky Elsom with him as captain - I think Elsom was born in Melbourne.

Elsom was born in Melbourne and Cheika's name has indeed been thrown around. It would be great for Australian rugby if he came back and brought all his knowledge of the game in Europe with him.

Cheika is an excellent head coach. He has a knack of putting together a top quality coaching team, recruiting high class players and trusting young up and coming players in key positions. He'd be an outstanding choice for the new franchise.
