McAlister a wanted man in Europe

Never say never, with Colin Slade out with a jaw injury, the back up spot for Carter is open once more.
If he has a solid S15 season, I do see him back in Black. After the RWC he should stick around a wee bit longer as he is a great addition to the Blues and Northharbor

McAlister has a really good chance to push for the starting 10 spot for the Blues, being named at first-five in what looks like a full strength Blues side for their final preseason match (vs the Chiefs on friday) (http://tvnz.co.nz/rugby-news/mcalister-gets-chance-blues-10-4018796). Realistically if he wants to make the AB's for the RWC he needs to play a full season at 10, as there is still no clear backup for Carter, and the AB's midfield looks stacked (despite the fact he is still a much better 12 than 10...). I used to be a huge fan of McAlister before he left NZ, however since he's come back he hasn't been the same player. If he does play a few games in row without getting injured (a HUGE ask for him..) he could regain some form and become a genuine contender to backup Carter.

9 Mathewson
10 McAllister
11 Rokocoko
12 Benson
13 Ranger
14 Toeava
15 Payne

That's how I would do it

Funny- thats exactly the line-up they have gone with this week v The Chumps.. whoops sorry, I mean The Chiefs

.....How about McAllister at flyhalf and Brett at inside center?....

one word.... defence!

Brett is great on attack with the ball inhand, but when he has make lots of tackles, he looks like a Pointsman on duty at a busy intersection during rush hour.

I'd personally have Ranger on the wing, Payne at centre and Toeava at fullback.

Its good that we agree on some things.. I'm still unsure on which of Payne and Toeava should wear the 14 and 15 jersey though.. They could feasibly both play 14 and 15 interchangibly during the game.

With Williams and Boric as second rowers, the line out shouldn't be a problem.
