Am I the only rugby fan who finds Martin gillingham commentary unbearable to listen to. The nasal whine the know all smug delivery spoils a good rugby match. He can't stop the verbal diarrhoea- you'd think he was being paid by the word !! He argues and takes on other ex player commentator who have far better practical knowledge of the game. As far as I know he's never played rugby and should stick to commentating on 400 m hurdles. In my view he is a crap commentator. As for Claire Thomas her constant inane chatter last night in the Portugal Fiji match was dire she knows nothing about the game at all, very poor.

Agree with your comments about Claire Thomas. She doesn't seem to know when to let the pictures do the talking. Her non-stop commentary eventually becomes very irritating.

I would totally agree. How to ruin a rugby match.
Her ridiculously dramatic and verbose commentary on the Exeter Chiefs game made me turn the sound off. Will someone please teach her to comment on the match, not act as if she was narrating some sensational drama.

I couldn't agree more. Whenever she comments her continual diatribe diarrhoea never lets up. She spoils every game, quoting inane statistics that she has got off the Net. Why is she employed beats me. Why do the employing authorities let ex players become pundits. It doesn't mean they can commentate. Listen to Nick Mullins, he's great. Thomas is a real game spoiler.
