I have been playing this game at work over the last couple of days, and I have to say, I am addicted, it is like no other Mario Kart game I have played before, plus having the choice of a Motorbikes is superb, I loved Mario Kart on the Gamecube it was the game that made the console, but Wii is something else...

I am now seriously considering getting a wii for this game, and also Super Smash Brothers, those two games will make it worth while for me...

It does seem that Nintendo are launching the big guns to combat the launch of GTA IV!!

Man Mario Karts on the Nintendo 64 was awesome, played that 1000's of times, it alone would almost be enough to get a Wii for me...

Mate the interactivity with the Wii is superb, we hooked it up to a £4000 projector at work and were playing it on a 100" + Screen, but with four players all with their steering wheels it was awesome, you find yourself leaning around the corners, it is absolutely superb...

We were only going to be playing a couple of games, but ended up playing for most of the day!!!

If you get the chance to play it, it will make you want a Wii!!!

I bought it on friday and it's the business, I have to say. Brilliant, brilliant game.

Bought it on release day, been playing it almost non stop since. I find it very similar to the N64 version, except with steering wheels. That aint no bad thing, as Mario Kart 64 was one of the best games aver made!

I had to go out and buy another controller (4th) and all four wheels (there goes another £80). The online play is good, and I enjoy the Ghost data (been trying to perfect my Sherbert Land time, but can't get under 2:20)

The Wii is going from strength to strength, more top class games are getting released all the time. Tempted to get Wii Fit when it get's released, it's just something so different, I'm sure it'll be great.

Still need to buy Smash bro's and House of the Dead too.

comes out down under this week. I will be picking this up without a doubt. surprisingly the online play seems to be really good and from what I have heard better than offline play. this will make up for the online being cut from medal of honor heroe 2 down this way.

if there was ever a time to pick up a wii now would be it. mario kart, smash brothers,pes2008 and wiifit all either out or coming out very shortly.

quick update nz stock delayed till april 30th. aus stock still on track for release on the 24th.

Wow it seems a top class game... I just bought PES and it's awesome... Nintendo is doing a great job.

have my copy of mario kart just need to get my wii talking to the router so I can go online!.

I heard people say the Wii gets boring after a while, could this be because some people never bother to go out and buy another game and are lazy enough to continue playing wii sports over and over and over again?

Charlie, what sort of work do you do if you can afford to pay Mario Karts all day long without getting in trouble for it?

I haven't, or never will get bored of my Wii, then again I'm not the type that play's all day every day. I've found every game I've bought to be top class (well there was Red Steel........!). I can see so much potential also, it could be the best for 1st person sooters, driving sims etc.

The Wii Fit board has bought another load of potential to the Wii, I've heard there's a boxing game that's gonna use it (for dodging and ducking) as well as the Wiimote and Nunchuck. Emagine a Tony Tawks style game using it!

that could be the case. the attachment ratio for wii is really bad compared to the 360 which is like 7 games per console bought or something stupid. the wii lineup has been crap until the likes of mario kart have come out could have been putting people off. now though would be the best time to get a wii galaxy and mario kart out with wiifit not far away plus wiiware and then in june finally smash brothers will be out in pal land. not bored of my wii yet just been a long wait between decent games.

Apart from turning with the little wheel it's pretty much exactly the same game as the last 10 Mario Karts. Which isn't a bad thing as those games were great, but it has exactly the same problems - cheating AI, luck with items, etc. Also I'm not sure if the Mario series is nostalgic or lazy, with so much recycled from previous games.

Right Lets have your friend ID's, So I can play some of you guys!!!

Mine is 5069-4274-2146

will do once I get a chance to load it up and also try to get it to talk to the router

Setting the Wii up wirelessly is the easiest thing ever. Just insert the ip address of said router and the subnet mask (they usually look something like 192.168.0.1 and 255.255.255.0) though all router manufacturers use different combinations. It really is that simple.

I'm not at home this weekend, but I'll post mine when I get back and we can arrange some TRF Mario Kart mayhem.

I know how to set it up as I have had it working previously but on a different router. the wireless on this one seems a bit subpar though as I have had it timeout on me while in the wiishop and getting virtual console points. I do have another router I could try but the wireless on that is even worse and just frequently disconnects and locks up which would suck in the middle of a race.

Ahhh, that sounds like very odd behaviour. Hope you can figure it out, otherwise just get a Netgear or D-link router (Netgear if you're like me and a sucker for something that looks a bit nicer), as I've had no problems whatsoever with either brand.

After a few days of playing, I'm firmly hooked lol. I love this game.

The wheel was a bit tricky and hard to get used to at first but I wouldn't play it any other way now, I use it all the time.

Love the new tracks, they're great...the new Rainbow Road is awesome. I also dig the retro courses...good mixture of both.

Not really a big fan of some of the new items, esp. the POW and Bullet but it's just something you gotta deal with.

Gotta get a router now so I can start playing online.

All in all, I think it's awesome.
