Major League Rugby

Vancouver and Seattle are an interesting study in sports. They both support same nhl and nfl teams (they share the green and blue colors) but Seattle is supposed to get an nhl team in the next two years. They both have their own soccer teams and both have had nba teams leave in the last decade or so.

Vancouver is supposed to get a rugby team next year so I wonder if they will also be a nautical green and blue team.

New York are new york United aren't they?
Corbisiero is always plugging them on insta

They had some pre-seasons against MLR sides, think they're trying to get involved next season (presume they tried but couldn't get the cash for this season seeing as there's and odd number of clubs)

It's supposedly just a placeholder name.

I think the delay was that the big New York clubs have had no interest in professionalism since amateurism allowed them to dominate (both clubs have a lot of ivy/ old money influence and could give Wall Street jobs away).
It took an outsider interested in mlr willing to foot the bill and players willing to leave.

They will be in next year. Apparently they had eyes on a Pro 12 expansion and tool their eye off MLR. Their backer is a good Munchins man from Limerick. Should be plenty money. I think they'll surely rebrand. Would be unamerican not to.

Oh god will they play the anthem before the games?

will rugby gets it own kneel controversy?

It's America of course there will be an anthem.

Other than Pacific Islanders rugby in America is almost as white as lacrosse.

Kind of a shame Seattle isn't opening it since it's a sell out.
You have a thing for teams that 'sell out', don't you Tigs.
Also see that Toronto are likely to be added very soon as well. N.A wide suits the comp very well and adds a bit of legitimacy and clout.

Nice little touch that they add how many points each score is worth in the top left, as and when...
