0:37 into the video. I was stunned in honesty, didn't think any NZ player had that range.

Wow, missed that game due to time difference but what a kick . It even beats Steyn as he only kicked 60m.

Yeah read about that today in the paper.

Simply amazing. :D

Top5 biggest boots in world rugby. Probably slots right behind Frans.

That's about the same distance. Didn't have to face the wind, but the ball tech wouldn't have been as good back then. Don Clark also kicked the ball roughly 60m+, and more recently Francois Steyn. It's always amazing to see.

Very impressive, maybe people will stop bleating on, in the 2012 threads, for FS has the biggest boot of everyone in the world and is the best at kicking blah blah blah

Paul Thorburn kicked his 64.2m :D

But Lukie Mac has a beast of a boot!

That's a huge distance. Really hoping too see McCalister in Black soon again.

He deserved 4 points for that kick. You dont see those go over to often let alone an attempt.

Don't forget kicking tees and/or sand piles weren't used back then either; The only thing holding that ball upright at was a divot made using his heal.

Imagine Seve Ballesteros using his old clubs and hevy old golf balls to out drive Tiger Woods and his brand spanking new kit, while the ball is on the grass instead of on the tee. That's what you're getting here.

Pity Carter is on All Black duty, it would be interesting to see them in a Canterbury v North Harbor clash.

:) cool picture, are you guys going to miss McCalister, who will replace him this season?
He left a season ago. Lee Thomas replaced him (or at least moved up the pecking order) - was a fairly similar player - centre who can cover 10 as well/is a capable kicker, but he was out most of the season, along with Tuilagi, so academy players were fast tracked into the squad.
Was quite a step down really - Luke McAlister to Johnny Kennedy (who, for all intents and purposes, is only in the squad because his dad owns Sale Sharks)
