Lions - Six Nations 2025 Auditions

Curry was fantastic v France but got injured so I wonder whether he can back it up over 3 tests. Would love to see dual open sides v the Wallabies - with Tom at 6 and VdF at 7.

I wonder if Farrell will go for two potential starters and a utility 10. His interest is Frawley and now Crowley as a bench option covering 10 and other positions in Ireland suggests he is very interested in this approach.
I read this and thought wtf why would Owen Farrel go, 🤣 then realised i was an idiot and carried on reading.

I'd say front England there will be Itoje Chessum, TCurry Mitchell MorFSmith Lawrence

Prop we don't stack up. Lock itoje and Chessum are going well. TCurry is our best player.

Mitchell is best of the rest after JGP, want 3 10s so Pentergast, Russell and Smith' and Lawrence going well.

He might see Freeman as an option of a utility who can move to 13 14 15.

I actually think we will have a decent showing. Mainly Irish, then Scotish and English about equal and then Jac Morgan and possibly they will give him a plus one to bring for company.

I think Keenan must be viewed as a likely starter, ahead of Kinghorne, and waiting to see how Furman performs when he returns. Can't see Steward or Smith making the conversation for starter at 15.

Also think Curry will start ahead of VdF, and that Lowe will almost definitely start
Kinghorn is way ahead on stats comparatively. Sheehan will go on tour but so far Kinghorn is the likely starter.

I do agree Kinghorn is shading it to be honest, especially as a second playmaker will be needed considering none of the wings who travel ahead of Mack Hansen can fill his role and Henshaw is on the outskirts of the 23 at best.

I wouldn't swap Kinghorn into the Ireland team but that's not the exercise here. In the backs anyway.

I really hope we go down this route. All of Curry, JvdF, Darge and Morgan are playing great rugby, and a fit Underhill or a firing Earl both deserve to be part of the conversation.

Meanwhile there aren't really any traditional blindsides putting their hands up. CCS and Baird have both been benched, O'Mahony is past it, Ritchie is out of form and Botham just isn't particularly good.

I'd like to see us tour with our back rowers looking something like:
6. Curry, Morgan
7. JvdF, Darge
8. Doris, Conan
+ Earl as utility

Fagerson works as 6 or 8

Joe Marlers idea of a Lions back line

Is Jack Willis in with a shout?
Theoretically, but the Top 14 overlaps with the tour quite a lot (final is the day of the second game) so if he's gonna be unavailable for 3, maybe 4, games (and all the training) then is it worth calling him up?

I think the sheer depth in his position makes it very unlikely. He'd need someone in the Lions coaching set up who has worked with him before to push his case and I can't see that happening.

So does Conan or Doris. Both of which I'd rank as far better with the ball than Fagerson.
Yeah, Darge carries that Scotland backrow. It's very balanced and fluid which let's them perform but with a ceiling. I wouldn't be crazy about Dempsey or Fagerson.

England are / have been kind of the opposite. Backrow talent for days but have not found much in the way of balance over the last year.

If seven backrows travel, I expect Doris, VdF, Conan, T Curry, Darge and then probably English and Welsh options battling to make the numbers up.
