Tigers have a received a proposal for 46.25% of the company in return to pay off some loans which would free up between £248,500 to £305,000 a year in interest costs.

The proposal is made by Tom Scott who owns currently 29% of the company as is a non executive director on the board.

The BoD have unanimously ask shareholders to accept said deal and the savings will go towards redevelopment and Player costs.

Make 100% sense to me and a step in the right direction for the club.

So it gives him total shareholder control as the resultant shareholding would be above the 75% requirement to do virtually what he wants!

The remaining shareholders have virtually no rights other than under oppression of minorities legislation which is a tortuous process!!

Whether it is good depends on the price paid. Also whether it is a subscription for shares whereby all his money goes into the company as share capital rather than part shares and part loan. The latter part would be capable of repayment.

As always the devil is in the details.

No he has 26% (or something like that after the proposal he will have 46% and will have payed of some loans.

His share will increase like 20%.

Ah! Not how I read your initial post so apologies!! Any increase in capital or reduction in liabilities is good news for English rugby in general and the club in particular!

If all clubs were capable of being similarity financially strengthened, and also conducted with a business plan that saw them profitable, then English club rugby could start to compete with the French clubs on an equal footing for top players!

Good except you need Laurence Pearce on. He's brilliant in my opinion.

Very bad news with the injury for three months of Mike Williams, who is in my opinion one of the best 3 tigers since the beginning of the season, maybe even the best.

I see your chasing our young hooker George McGuigan.

I hope not as I really rate him. Just needs to fix his lineout throws a bit...but elsewhere hes a cracker.

I am a bit lost on who is considered as which back row position out of the back row squad players Leicester have. Some clarity would be greatly appreciated...

I see Tom Croft is selected at 7 for this weekend, and going by the endless discussions we have all had on the England threads, Tom would not be considered an out and out 7 but certainly a 6.

Brendan O'Connor is an obvious natural 7, but what are Mike Williams and Fitzgerald considered to be? Are there other natural 7 type back rows in the Leicester squad?

Thackers not a natural 7 but he'd be great there

Croft is covering 7 ATM isn't really Considered a out and out 7 just with O'Connor injured and McCaffrey given a rest he is playing there.

Fitz and Williams are both 6 and Locks.

In terms of 7's

We have
O'Connor
McCaffrey
Thacker (has had game time there)

Development squad:
Owen (Eng U20 on loan to Doncaster ATM)

Academy
Evans (Eng u18)
Reffel (Wales U16)
