Well it's going to be tough. The loss of DB is a massive lost.

Manly have come here and prepared properly, unlike most of the Aussie sides, and have real determination to take the ***le back home down under.

We have scrapped victories together and I can't see us keeping the trophy for another year, therefore I'm swaying with a win for the Sea Eagles.

But it should be a good game of Rugby and I'm looking forward to the tie, I just hope the lads can do British Rugby League proud once more.

Diskin has been posssibly their best player so far so I'm not so sure they'll miss Buderus too much. Not like he's played much yet anyway.

If Manly want it bad enough they could win but Leeds have it within them to dig deep and pull off the win also.

I can't call a winner here.

Given Quins nearly caused upset against (an albeit understrength) Manly, my money is on Leeds. It's going to be close, though...

The return of Rob Burrow and Ali is a massive boost for us. :)

Looking forward to see Burrow back, it will be interesting to see how get's on considering the lack of match practice he has had this season.

Manly:

B Stewart; Robertson, Lyon, Matai, Williams; Bailey, Orford (capt); King, Ballin, Perry, Watmough, Hall, G Stewart. Subs (from): L'Estrange, Cuthbertson, Rose, Rodney, Waerea-Hargreaves.

World Cup winner Back backs Rhinos for world glory

England Rugby Union World Cup winner Neil Back is backing Leeds Rhinos to retain the Carnegie World Club Challenge this Sunday when they take on Australian Champions Manly Sea Eagles at Elland Road.
Back, who this season took up the reigns as Head Coach of the Rhinos sister Rugby Union club Leeds Carnegie, will be at Elland Road along with the rest of his squad to support their stable mates and believes the Rhinos can become World Champions once again.
Back was part of the England team who famously beat Australia in Sydney in 2003 to win the World Cup and he is excited about watching the two best Rugby League sides in the world go head to head this Sunday. He commented, “Since moving up to Leeds in the summer I have loved going to watch the Rhinos play on a Friday at Headingley Carnegie. There is a great buzz about the training ground at the moment with both teams being unbeaten in their respective seasons. I am really pleased to be going to the game and wish Brian McClennan and the team all the best.
“Being back to back league champions shows how strong the Rhinos are but I know that the Australian NRL competition is very tough and Manly will be a huge challenge for Leeds. Australians, regardless of which code of rugby it is, are always good athletes and are always determined to win.
“I had the privilege of captaining England when we beat Australia at Twickenham to win the Cook Cup and then obviously it was special to beat them in their own backyard in 2003. Australian sportsman have a certain arrogance about them and I know from my playing days, that always made it good to beat them. Hopefully, the Rhinos will have that feeling too come Sunday night,†added Back.
The Rhinos have also received best wishes from the England Rugby Union camp this week as they prepare for their clash with Ireland in the RBS Six Nations. Scrum half Danny Care, who came through the Rugby Union academy ranks at Leeds, and was born in the City has said he will be cheering the Super League champions on come Sunday night. He told skysports.com, "I always played football when I was younger and then union just came in and when I went to high school it was a rugby union playing team. I never got the chance to play league but I used to be a massive fan of the Rhinos and I still look out for them. I'll definitely be watching on Sunday and cheer for the boys. It'll be nice to have a chilled out day watching the Rhinos win after we've beaten Ireland in Croke Park."

what a *** he sounds now

Well... I enjoyed that :)

Congrats Manly who fully deserved the win with some superb attacking rugby.

Nice bit of biff as well :D

Just got back from the match, must say I'm absolutley gutted, I thought at half time, Manly were there for the taking, but they came out firing on all cylinders in the first 6 minutes of the second period.

The loss of Rob Burrow early on was a massive blow, he was lively and quick on his feet and I feel he could have caused the Eagles back row some real problems in the final 20.

But Manly showed their worth with some fantastic Rugby, they were hard as nail's in front of their whitewash, quick with their handling and ripped our back line to shreds.

We restored some pride with a good try from McGuire and Hall late on and we showed that we can compete with the best team in the world.

Quick note on the ref, I thought he was terrible, I wasn't impressed with Robinson what so ever, not sure how it was shown on the TV....... but that shouldn't take the shine off Manly, they were excellent.

Good game, one for the neutrals definetley.

The ref was awful... although slightly better performance from him than the one he came up with in the Warrington v Catalan Dragons match.

I thought the ref got most of his big calls right to be honest. Both teams were very indisciplined.

It was a fantastic game and a big, big boost to the World Club Challenge. I thought Manly were outstanding and the 6 minutes after half time is as good as you'll see anywhere. Truly, truly brilliant. Was great to see the biff brought back.
