Kiwi picks the Lions

Actually I wonder what an U20 Lions squad would look like. Apart from more mixed than usual.

Pretty certain you could make something absolutely fearsome from the available players.

Three top tightheads, loads of backrows, 10s and outside backs. I think Henderson would be a nailed on starter but more because of not many locks.

Sinckler, Furlong and...?

A Thomas vs. Gilsenan vs. Kvesic battle over the the 7 shirt would be something.

Henderson would be a nailed on starter because he eats babies.

Samson Lee.

True but I didn't want to just come right out and say it.

I'll give it a go warning there wil be a lot of bias.

1. Rob Evans
2. Kirby Myhill
3. Tadgh Furlong
4. Iain Henderson
5. Matthew Screech
6. Jack Conan
7. Conor Gilsenan
8. Dan Baker
9. Dan Robson
10. Matthew Morgan
11. Marlon Yarde
12. JJ Hanrahan
13. Cory Allen
14. Tom Prydie
15. Anthony Watson

While maybe not everyone would agree with it it's still a damn good team. Using only players at the u20 WC.

George North for Lions U20 wing!

Is it wrong I'd be tempted to revert back to bad school tactics and stick him at 12 in such a scenario?

Ah. Just to think, if his stupid father hadn't moved to Anglesey...

Habberfield and Morgan together at halfback, they have played together for many years, compliment each other quite well.
Not a bad side at all.

@Peat, just to smash some other nippers, OK. Some still want to see him moved to midfield, but he really is a wing.

Plus, Robson is really shunt.

Draggs - Yeah. Dunno, think he might make a great 13, but he's already a great wing, and his game right now suits that better. But basically I just want to bully kids.

BG8 - Anthony Watson wasn't there either.

Personally, would stick LCD at 1, and Billy Vunipola at 6. Elsewise... yeah, only English changes I can think of.

Poor Scotland

Stuart Hogg can be the token Scot for a Lions U20 team

He could make a good outside centre, but not with Roberts or Dixon at inside centre. If there was a playmaker at inside centre, then I would not be opposed to North in midfield.

Not bad at all. It's difficult not to be biased at U20 level, because we've all watched our own teams much more than the rest. I'd be tempted to play Luke Hamilton over Dan Baker at 8. Hamilton played 6 at the U20 WC, but can and has played at 8, including for the Cardiff Blues, and I personally think he's the better prospect. As Draggs says, Habberfield at 9 imo, he's very good indeed.

Not seen much of Furlong, better than Lee? Lee ate everyone alive scrum time at the WC.

Damn forgot. Don't think the fullbacks on display were great Nelson can be excellent but is basically bipolar in his play. I'll change it to not involved in senior squads. Does that work or have I left someone big out?

Well Shane Horgan describes him as Sean O'Brien but at prop. Is very strong in the scrum dominated Kitshoff who has loads of Super Rugby experience and is pretty good around the park one image that sticks in the mind is him covering back for a kick. Does seem to tire quickly after around an hour.

Furlong is a classy act. I didn't see much of the Wales JWC games so can't compare, but I'd have Furlong ahead of Sinckler. I believe the goss/hype that he'll be Leinster's 2nd choice tighthead at the end of the season.

Now idly wondering if we might see any bolters from that lot - the backs positions in particular seem a little nebulous right, nothing's really that set-looking.
