I have a feelign Keith Earls is gonna bust the Russian a new one on Sunday morning.

He hasn't been full of confidence yet but a think the combination of a broken Russian side and the fact that he need to impress to hold off the claims of McFadden and Trimble will see him looking to finish at every opportunity.

It's been a fair while since his debut against Canada but Kidney has remained loyal to him for long enough to suggest that he won't bench him this weekend.

A hattrick against Russia will not set the tournament alight. Unless he's planning set fire to the lino's shorts.

If Trimble and/or McFadden don't start this game then...well that's just poo

Hi Mrs Earls,

Wishing you and your boy the best of luck this weekend. Given his previous performances at 13 and the defensive record of the Russians this is going to be just the platform Keithy needs to really kick start his world cup campaign. If all goes well hes replace old man BOD in time for the Italy game.

Love the scones.

Well you never know because D'Arcy is out which means it might be McFadden and Paddy Wallace in the centre and Ghey'll give Trimble a run out because bowe is being rested (he has a ****le), which means there's two spots between Geordan Murphy, Rob Kearney and Earls. Giiven that Earls is the only real winger of the three he may well be playing.

In fairness, it's been a long time since any clean ball has gotten out to Earls or Bowe or Trimble or whoever plays on the wing for Ireland so I'm not overly upset when they don't score many tries for Ireland.

It's just the way it is.

I reckon that if he doesn't have a great performance, or at least doesn't "got set the tournament alight" then more than a few people will be back to rub in it OP's face.
Deservedly so for making a thread like this.
I hope Ireland can get the ball to the wingers as Russia is terrible at getting turnovers and terrible at keeping possession of the ball. Some consistent tacklers though.

That settles it, we are stuck in 2009 all over again...
