Ireland full-back Rob Kearney has ignored the trend to seek a lucrative overseas deal by inking a new two-year contract with Leinster and the Irish Rugby Football Union.
The new deal will see the 24-year-old British and Irish Lions tourist stay in Dublin until the end of the 2013 season.

Kearney is off form but this break could be a blessing in disguise. He needed to go away and think about his style of playing. His skill is great but he needs to rejuvenate his game. I do think that Schmidt is the person that really could bring him back to form very quickly. He has so far boosted Horgan's game and alot of people thought that would never happen. Many players like SOB, Ryan and McFadden have really come out in to the big stage and they have improved so much while he has been coach.

Fighting it out against an on-form Fitzgerald for the 15 shirt is only going to help his game as well,

There's crazy depth in the Leinster backline now. I thought Kearney may play victim to a numbers game since there's more than enough cover for him. Leinster's options:

Rob Kearney
Isa Nacewa
Luke Fitzgerald
Shane Horgan
Dave Kearney
Andrew Conway
Niall Morris
Fergus McFadden
Brian O'Driscoll
Gordon D'arcy
Eoin O'Malley
Brendan Macken
Shaun Berne
Eamonn Sheridan
Jonathan Sexton
Ian McKinley
Ian Madigan
Eoin Reddan
Isaac Boss
Paul O'Donohoe

Snoop I've feeling over next 2/3 seasons a few of them will be cut though.

That's a bold prediction. So you think 30 somethings Brian O'Driscoll, Shane Horgan, Gordon D'arcy and Shaun Berne along with a couple of squad players might not be with Leinster in 2014? Never!

No I know they the obvious ones I was more so on about a few of younger guys.

Of course that's the case. There's always a huge amount of turnover of players who are there to fill out a squad. The cream will rise to the top and make it with Leinster. The leftovers will go the way of Niall Ronan, Kieran Lewis, Denis Hurley, Ian Dowling and Johne Murphy. You'll be damn glad to get those leftovers too.

Like Leinster with Mike Ross, Stephen Keogh, Trevor Hogan and dare I resort to Fogarty lol.
But I just think Leinster and rest will feel the hit eventually from while we minimizing central contracts and money shrinking here, England and France seem to increase their financial muscle and it only a matter of time before some lads chance their arm.
