June International Test: Australia vs. England [1st Test] (11/06/2016)

This almost replica of Welsh game! Aus to come back just like the Blacks?

Thought Haylett Petty would be 15 but see is 14! Great tackle to save certain try from Yarde.....

Guilty for the disallowed Aussie try.

Would argue that it was more Watsons for not trusting Burrell.....

Brown making too many mistakes and his time is up. Itoje having another massive game.

Terrible by the sounds of it. ford was warming up apparently for a bit before he came on so Eddie must of wanted to make the sub.

You listening on the old wireless? :p

I find it rather odd that Burrell is involved at all in this tour.
Also be keen to have it confirmed whether Haskell and robshaw have done anything at all or whether itoje is carrying them

Looked tactical: he was fine in the play prior to coming off.

Looked to be all over the place defensively -- leaving his man on the inside or outside isolated. Guilty for the disallowed Aussie try.

Strangely, he made less errors for england at 13 than he ever has at 12 - apparently his natural position

My god Itoje is gonna be responsible for buckets of jizz on this forum today.

To be fair, Haskell's made some big hits, an almighty one on Pocock, and Robshaw not been incapable at the breakdown (earned a penalty there)

England is sooooo boring

Oh sod off, all you have done on this thread is slag off England. We might have tries if the Australians didn't infringe at the breakdown every time we got into their 22.

Itoje as a player as a leader and as a team mate is head and shoulders above everyone else on the pitch ATM. Even if Oz get the win, if he keeps this up he deserves MOTM.
Couldn't agree more, what a player, he looks a born leader and I think the pack looks to him already as the talisman, I think England have found a diamond that needs a little polish to make him a player who can be another Martin Johnson. High praise but I just love seeing this lad on the field for England.

Started well, probably the best I've seen either of them in an England shirt for 15mins, kind of faded away/disappeared since

Only 21 we've a decade of this to come long may it continue.

Think were doing well in attack you only have to look at Aus penalty count to see what we are doing well, it's probably costing them more than we'd create otherwise now. But you do that stuff in front the posts any kicker will make you pay.

Also TBH Aus won the first 10mins but lost the next 30 which is why we are winning.

Hasty Half-time ratings

Brown - Back to bad. For the first time ever, I understand calls for Goode.
Yarde - Not winning his battles but not losing them badly
Joseph - Our best back
Burrell - Did okay going forwards; hooked for defensive errors?
Watson - Handful of defensive errors
Farrell - Giant defensive error and missed touch line kick aside, good
Youngs - Good.

Vunipola M - Marler will rest easy
Hartley - Same old. Few line out errors.
Cole - A bit below meh with one crucial turnover
Itoje - Strong game
Kruis - Bit anonymous. Few line out errors.
Robshaw - One good turnover, not a huge amount else
Haskell - Decent nuts and bolts
Vunipola B - Doing well but nowhere near the same effect as 6N

Ford - That move that gets the ball to Yarde in space doesn't happen with Ford. Lets see what happens next half

Weird half. I think Australia have had a lot of system errors after a strong opening ten and put themselves under unnecessary pressure. Their kicking game's not been great. Delighted to be up but slightly unsure how its happened.

Anyway, lets go shove them back down into their half and make the most of this.

Hahaha we totally didn't deserve that

tbh, I think it should be always given to the defending team every time, even if the defender wasn't likely to get there. Partly for the karmic justice, partly because it's the only way we will ever stop this negative tactic of obstruction.

Yeah you've got a point, just annoying one of those gray areas where they can't seem to decide one way or the other, so it always comes down to the individual refs / TMOs. Be nice if they stamp it out as it happens a lot.

A tense 1st half that saw England weather the expected Oz initial storm really well. With a little more fluidity in our possession we'll push Oz all the way. A perfect example there, a good attacking position lost again?
