Cardiff Blues wing Tom James faces a disciplinary hearing on Thursday after being sent off for head-butting in their Heineken Cup win at Gloucester.

James travels to Dublin to learn his fate with coach Dai Young having railed at Olivier Azam's actions on Sunday.

James made contact with Azam's face, who appeared to go down heavily.

The best thing that can happen to him is a month or two ban.
That'll be a right kick in the teeth, and he'll think twice before being a prat again.

It was a pathetic reaction from Azam but James deserves a lengthy ban for even attempting to headbutt another player.

I'm not sure it was a headbut. He was more squaring up to him, leaning in with his head(still a stuid thing to do, and I wouldn't be against a few weeks ban), Azam also leaned in, so will he be cited? No, cos James didn't go down like some football wan*er!

I've seen this kinda thing loads of times between a couple of props, without any aktion taken, this has all come around because of Azam's rediculous dramatics, which I think was worse than the incident itself! We don't want this kinda thing entering our game, there's no place for it or it'll be hard to differentiate between a real injury or a player after a penalty.

In some ways, the red card and missing the chance to be in the 6nations & stake a claim for Lions place is punishment enough, bit of a fine if they fance too.

I suppose, this'll at least teach James a lesson to be carefull how he conducts himself.

He's only got 2 weeks. The committee have decided it was at the low end of seriousness for striking somebody with the head and they also seem to have taken into account that Azam acted like a complete ***.
