Is a recalcitrant, interfering, parasitical piece of software that tries to take over the world every time you install an update.

Discuss.

For a MAC person its brillaint and I quite enjoy it. Better than Windows Media Player!

It's the only apple product i use/like.
It's the only music playing software i've used since winamp about 8years ago or something, i think it's great.

Terminator 2 was right - a piece of software would become self aware and cause the end of the world. They just got the name (ever so slightly admittedly) wrong - they meant ITunes, not Skynet.

And these updates are never small.. they're massive sized updates, some of us have bandwidth limits!!!!

lol... That's the biggest issue. Luckily overhere in Holland there's no such thing as a cap or bandwith limit. When I was in South Africa I had a 2 Gb limit. Crap!

Overhere I download about 300 to 400 GB a month with music, movies, rugby matches etc.

iTunes is a horrible application but to some people Apple is sacred (not anyone here as far as I know) but those people get upset whenever you say something negative about Apple products.

To me, Apple is a pain in the ass, to someone else it might be awesome. That's the thing with preference.

When it comes to the iPhone, I prefer the HTC Desire
When it comes to the Macbook, I prefer HP Elitebooks
When it comes to iPod Touch, I prefer Creative Zen
When it comes to iTunes, I prefer Spotify.

Well, good thing I don't have that bandwidth limit, but I'm just trying to fight for those who's got one! hehehe

I don't mind the program itself, I am a proud owner of an iPod, and I really don't mind owning any apple product, especially if they're for free... :p

For Mac you need to use songbird, for Winhoos media monkey. Works perfect.

Songbird is an imitation of iTunes.

What I love about people who moan about Apple products are the one's who don't really use Apple all the time and just have basic Apple products such as iPod's and iPhones. Personally for me I'd love to own an iMac etc but can't afford it. My only problem with Apple is that their products are a little expensive.

True, but that' s because they limit the production of their goods.
If you're really interested in a Mac you could consider a second hand one. They still work pretty well.

Yeah, they should be made cheaper!!! I'm in pain with every penny spent...

Most likely thats what I will do.

Everytime they launch new hardware the previous hardware is on a discount but still quality

Great, now my iPhone 4 displays the actual signal. Joy...

I have a massive hatred of all things apple, apart from my trusty Macintosh. The future is now, old men:

In all seriousness, I haaaaaaate iTunes. Obtrusive, ineffcient, slow, bloated and constricting. To blazes with it!

I hate iTunes! So slow and lumbering! Unfortunately it's needed for my iPod, which I love dearly.

I wanted to buy some iPod but when I found out I coudn't smoke it I was disappointed. You would think 700 euro's would be enough for a wild trip ;)
