Ireland vs. BaaBaas

Let's not go too wild with the word 'epic'. It's been far from a classic. It has been enjoyable.

Adam Jones looks shattered, need to sub him now. I wonder if Harlequins are happy?

Yeah fair enough, maybe it was an exaggeration. The first half was a bit poor, second has been good.

Definitely. He's be great since he came on.

Love that drop goal by Madigan, that was classy.

I think Madigan was the only back who did well from starters a few of forwards did ok too. The backrow will be some decision

Just heard there from Thomond Park staff that Schmidt has said he's expecting McGrath to be cited for sure and be out of RWC.

Considering what has happened with Hartley for a pretty pathetic headbutt attempt, a full blown knee to the lower back should be a citing.

Jaysussssss we've gone from having two pretty good loose heads to none. Silly of McGrath. Hope Healy can get fit on time again.

Chalk and cheese, due to the Hartley's history he could sneeze on a guy and get a lengthy ban.

Because of history, he should be extra careful. The fact he will still even attempt something like that, regardless of the consequences, should cause alarm bells to ring. He's already thrown away the chance the play in 1 important tournament because he decided to be an idiot beforehand and it seems he has absolutely no self restraint. Do we really want someone with that sort of record in a world cup final? Our opposition do something to wind him up, he does something stupid, oh great we are 1 player down for 10 minutes. He is a proven thug and we can't risk him continuing that way in a world cup. He's more interested in attacking opposing players than keeping his cool.

Kilcoyne is pretty decent isn't he? Certainly a strong carrier anyway and rarely paired with a good tighthead.

Kilcoyne and Cronin are very much on par with McGrath. All have strong areas but certainly nothing between 3. Healy obviously ahead.

People say it's like chalk and cheese with Hartley but it is comparable with Pape and well he got 10 weeks

No they're not, McGrath isn't as good as Healy but still a bit ahead of those guys considering his experience and breakdown work.

No it isn't, Pape's was a malicious and successful attempt to cause injury. McGrath was reckless and showed poor technique, I think he'll miss a couple warm up games at worst.

Been told there's only a 2 hour window for citings after exhibition matches, and it's not been put in. Which is a ****ing joke. Dirty thuggish play that lead to Heaslip getting fractured vertabrae, and Pape getting a deserved lengthy ban, but the Irishman gets off scott free for an equally dangerous and completely unwarranted act.

Apart from a knee going into the back the two incidents are incomparible. McGrath's knee could never have caused injury in this case, Heaslip broke his back. But yeah, **** the ****ing joke ****ing citing ****ing system ban Ireland from the ****ing World Cup **** **** ****.

I suppose that's your opinion but a lot of Munster Leinster Ulster and Connacht fans believe there is little between them. If he gets anything over 4 weeks he will be seriously in doubt. Pape got 10 weeks and while McGrath wasn't as malicious it could still get 5-6weeks. And McGraths issue is he's been done already this year after citing.

His history should have zero bearing on him being cited.

Just confirmed no citings from game

think that's appalling - gif is here:

He's 122kg, the guy he hit was on the floor with absolutely nowhere to go, and therefore no give, he dropped his knee into his back. The bit of the vertabrae that Heaslip broke are easy to fracture, and I'd bet a lot of money that what McGrath did, combined with his size, could have resulted in the same. Should have been a straight red and a decent sized ban.
