Low effort thread, I'm as sluggish as the Ireland team right now.

Don't think this game really matters after Australia's loss to Italy, we're safe in the top 6, it'd be a bad one to lose though.

Think this should be our worst window of the current RWC cycle with the big Lions hangover but still want to go one from four.

What makes you want Ireland to lose 3 of the 4 games @Leonormous Boozer? 😀😀. On a serious note I expect Ireland to win this one but it’s a bit of a nothing game - Australia are probably mentally on the beach already. I can see Ireland struggling in this one but then putting in a “heroic last stand” performance against SA only to get pipped late on - ala New Zealand in 2013.

Who am I to argue with the lawn loving genius.

Yeah I think there's a collective head-loss.

1. We've lost key players and we're not a nation that can always expect to be one of the best in the world.

2. Us and Oz are the teams most affected by the Lions. Lions hangovers aren't too uncommon.

3. Farrell is presumably implementing some new ideas that aren't sticking just yet, he's been out of the Set up for 9 months.

Feeling positive for Ireland as the week progresses. We finished strongly against Japan and I can begin to see some of what we’re trying to do. 5% improvement in passing and timing, and all the almosts become scores.
On the other hand, Oz appears to have regressed since the Lions and Rugby Championship. Last 2 games before Schmidt hands over to Kiss after a very long test series and I think they’ll fold for the next two games.

This may well age badly…

Wallabies won’t fold - Schmidt will want to go out with, at the very least, two good performances against Ireland and France.

IRELAND (possible, v Australia): M Hansen; T O’Brien, R Henshaw, S McCloskey, J Lowe; S Prendergast, J Gibson-Park; A Porter, D Sheehan, T Furlong; J Ryan, T Beirne; R Baird, C Doris (capt), J Conan.

Replacements: R Kelleher/G McCarthy, P McCarthy, T Clarkson, C Prendergast, N Timoney, C Casey, J Crowley, B Aki.

Via Thornley.

Henshaw at 13 would not fill me with confidence, especially at this stage of his career. Not sure who else would play there with the injuries atm though.

This is the team except Paddy McCarthy starting. Getting the Farrell fast track.

Gotta be the least impressive 1st choice (barring injuries) team that Ireland have put out in quite some time. The starting pack is strong but don't think that the backline or bench would worry too many teams.

I know its forced, but Hansen fresh from injury into 15, a position where he's never been particularly good for Connacht and has never played at International level will be..... interesting. An Ikitau Suaalii Aussie centre partnership will be a handful for us

This, easily, for me

Im still undecided...

Ireland Aus could be a blinder, but France Fiji will have it all, and i genuinely think Fiji stand a chance if they play smart...

I think im going to stick to this, as i think the bunker will ruin the other as a spectacle, ill settle on just 2 yellows and a red here.
