So I know stuff all about international hockey, but I've just been reading how Australia just won their 2nd World Cup in a row after hammering the Netherlands 6-1 in the final at home.
Judging by the previous finalists, it seems to be a sport that is strongest in mainland Europe, with the Netherlands and Germany often featuring in the final (though Pakistan has the most ***les after dominating in the '70s).
Does anyone else know much about the game and where it's biggest?
Whilst I can see why the Germans and the Dutch are into it (basically soccer with sticks), it's a bit of a surprise seeing us kick butt so well.
