To clarify the role of Sidhe in this

- Big Ant (based in Melbourne) are the developer of the ***le
- Sidhe were not involved in the development of this ***le, though we were aware it was in development from the outset
- Sidhe did provide some QA testing resource towards the backend of the project, though was not the primary testing resource
- Rugby League Live is not a port of Rugby League 3. It is a seperate ***le based on different technology.
- Some commentary, stadium, and motion capture/animation data from Sidhe RL ***les was supplied to Big Ant to assist with development, but it is not clear how this may have been used in conjunction with new assets created by Big Ant in the final version.

As suggested previously, the Rugby League franchise has come to PS3/360, and HES continues to make significant investment into the franchise.

Sidhe can't comment or answer questions on the ***le directly, but hopefully footy fans will support it.

Thanks for the information.

I was wondering when this would be announced.

Hopefully there is a franchise or season mode in this.

yay. yuss. yeah. yes. woohoo. woot. you get the point.

Alex approves.

Excellent news - let's hope it's an enormous success.

I don't understand the decision to create a brand new game from scratch with a different developer for the 1st next-gen Rugby League ***le and not go with the team who have shipped 4 Rugby League games already!?!?

I am still looking forward to playing it and will support it regardless of who has developed it.

They'd have to start from scratch anyway as the Wii version is way way below what a 360/PS3 is capable of

Yes, had we (Sidhe) created a PS3/360 game in the RL franchise, we would have pretty much started from scratch in almost all areas. The engine used across PS2/Xbox/Wii wouldn't get the best out of those platforms otherwise.

As for different branding and the use of a different developer, I'll have to leave that to speculation.

this is really exiting news. a rugby game (regardless of its code) is coming this year on next gen. Woop woop :D hopefully this will be a solid entry for the next gen market. looking forward to seeing some pics and vids. :D :D by the time this comes out we should have more details on rugby 2012. this is quite well timed for us rugby lovers. woop woop :D :D hopefully it wont more expensive than normal price ps3 like RL3 (was more expensive than usual wii games). ah well either way i'll still probs buy it to get my fix :D :D

If I was going to speculate then I would say that HES would have approched Sidhe first and foremost to make this game. Sidhe would have pitched the budget and time frame they felt would enable a fair next gen effort and HES did not agree.

Then, Sidhe pitched the wii instead and HES got on board. This left the RL newcomers Bigant with a chance to step in and have a crack. With the budget and time frame I would say they are really up against it, but hopefully they have a solid foundation atleast.

Any disconnection, no matter the circumstances should count as a loss.
