Heineken Cup 2013/14 Pool 2, Round 5 (Exeter v Glasgow, Toulon v Cardiff)

Watching the likes of Sam Hobbs and Scott Andrews getting mullered in the scrum, I was just thinking, have the Blues managed to develop a single decent scrummaging prop in their 10 years? They inherited Gethin Jenkins from the disbanded Warriors after all. Considering that their head coach for most of the time was a former Lions prop, that's not great!

Rhys Gill?

Its hard because other than the yellow periods, the blues have look relatively competitive in open play. Still a lot to play for here. If, somehow, they can get within 7 we could get a much needed BP.

Have they anyone lined up to come in they'll need 2 as Petorious leaving too. They should've went all out for Delve

The rumour in the undercurrent is Victor Vito. Paul ***o and Richard Holland went on a scouting mission in NZ back in November. They have apparently approached a fair few NZer's. I'm not sure how we'd afford him and just could be a rumour. Unless VV has signed elsewhere and I haven't noticed!

With respect to the man, Pretorius has been very poor this season. Hasn't been the same since his injury and we are good for 6's. We need an 8. Like Copeland.

Would it be more Vito is a 6 but would be huge signing and in his prime

Haha, Toulon front row comes up and a penalty try is given.

Absolute rubbish. I hope Glasgow give Toulon a good game and they draw Leinster in the quarters.

What the **** is with garner?
Completely **** awful ****ing **** of a referee. Robbed the blues from this contest, a total disgrace.
Did Toulon send a contract his way?

Blues were solidly ****ed over there.

That was never a penalty try.
Just because the scrum stopped going forwards doesn't mean it's a penalty try. There was no infringement, it didn't go down, it just stopped going forward.

Someone should gob in Garner's face, he's a f***ing tool.

Man this European rugby is soooo good. I'll concede control to the wru so we stay in it, worth it.
Toulon are great competition.

Wow, TRF Olyy is piiiissed off tonight !! :p

Yeah I think Cardiff held up well, they easily could have succombed to Toulon's second half push but despite the score it was good resistance from them. And plus, they won the match at home, respect to them for that.

At the moment I'd take an Anglo-Welsh league over this shower.
If the FRU don't want the French clubs involved in any new comp, then they're no loss.

Well these are poor arguments. Ref doing very poorly in a game involving the most hated French side? Better throw the baby out with the bathwater!

I am not just talking about the ref, but the **** sides. Racing yesterday, Toulon today. It's a waste of time to give up everything to participate in this joke tournament.

Don't like 2 out of 24 teams? The whole tournament must be awful!

Toulon will be out for revenge big time.

They could put a massive amount of points on Cardiff, but equally could lose. They're too unpredictable a side due to being a collection of players rather than an actual team.

good call. Cardiff fought well but they were blitzed. Toulon showed they are up for it. So i wouldnt question their motivation...And what team can pull an audience of 33 000 in a soccer town like Nice for a pool game?!
They are every bit a team as any other. Thats why they are the champs!

Enjoy playing Saracens and Leicester in that case. No out of towners in the Premiership at all.

Racing were not at the races in the HCup. They are out. So that only leaves 1 side in the entire competition. Are Toulon not good enough for you. They are too good.

I have nothing against Toulon, I simply think they were a poor side given a massive bit of help by the referee.
Penalty count 20-5...

33,000? I'm not impressed considering the huge amount of money spent on that squad. Any team who has that amount of gifted resources should be pulling that in anyway. I find it much more impressive when the Irish and English teams pull in 40-60,000 without a crazy millionaire involved.
