Heineken Cup 2013/14 Pool 1, Round 6 (Leinster v Ospreys, Saints v Castres)

What a bloody idiot. Was hoping Evans had put that side of his game behind him, as he's been extremely impressive in play the last few years.

Ah well, maybe Wales will get lucky and we'll have the same 'panel' as Horwill had?

Been honest can only see him getting 2-3 weeks

Think it'll be 8-10 weeks. He's not exactly got a clean record (recently its good, but in the past was a bit of a thug)

Ian Evans' stamp looks very bad to me - on a level with John Haye's mashing up that Leinster players face a few years back.

However I've also seen a clip of Leo Cullen stamping on an Ospreys player late on in the game. While it's nothing compared to Ianto's stamp I hope that it's still cited, as it's still a stamp.

I seen that too - I think it was AWJ he was stamping/rucking on with little cause.

Cullen is also a dirty f**ker well versed in the dark and ****ly arts of the game*.

*I expects a barrage of protest from the D4 crowd in 5-4-3-2-....

I didn't see the Cullen incident but if he stamped, he deserves a ban.

Wasn't one of Evans' previous bans also for a stamp? If so I expect he'll get a long enough ban.

As I said he deserves longer maybe but will get lower end on appeal. It was blatant as he looked down and was easy to spot as he was only Osprey facing in direction. Add in he couldn't help the ruck so shouldn't have had stamping action regardless.
Cullens wasn't in same bracket and if it was deemed red it'd be lower end 100% but unlikely he will have case to answer

If Cullen were to be banned it would probably benefit Leinster on the pitch, its a year to far for him.

Aye - on Harry Ellis. F***ed Ellis's knee up doing it and he eventually retired due to repeated recurrence of the injury/it never healing properly.

I am taking it from the lack of comment that, like me, everyone thought that the much maligned Monsieur Poite had a decent/good game in Dublin last night!!

Poite was alright last night but was a bit too lenient on offsides. With Ospreys being a man down, they tended to fly off the line early to compensate for it.

Well nick wood got 8 weeks having no prior bans as fair as I'm aware . So if Ian Evans has priors I would expect him to get a minimum of 8 weeks if not 10 or 12

Only Paul O'Connell can get away with stamping on the head unpunished. If the ban is done properly (which as we know is no guarantee) then Ian Evans has probably ruled himself out of the 6 Nations with that dumb bit of play.

What was Cian Healy's "convenient" ban (which allowed him not to miss a 6N game) for? Was it stamping or a punch?

I agree, Cullen has gone to **** this year, he used to balance good play and the dirty stuff. This year he is just a penalty machine.

Healy's was a stamp to the torso and he got away with the whole I've been good before this spiel, he should have missed a 6n game for that but much like O'Connell's kick, not a stamp, not intentional but reckless, it can't be classified in the same bracket as Evans.

Would have always preferred to have Cullen on my side rather than him playing against us because, certainly, he was a good club player but hugely irritating....not seen enough to tell about his present form but too many players do not know when is the right time to leave!

Healy...thanks!

That was for stamping . It was on Dan cole I believe . Although it wasn't on his head in fairness

I think it was on his ankle

And James horwill ....

When has Paul O Connell been stamping?
