Heineken Champions Cup 22/23 - Round of 16

These late tries are flattering the scoreline for Quins.
They did but then again there were warnings of a YC during Quins end of the first half dominance for repeated infringements in the red, which seemed to get forgotten then the try which looked like a toe on the line so all in all I don't think the huge scoreline difference reflected the game either.

It seems like Bulls and Stormers normally have the best turn out for South African teams.

Them against each other is the biggest attendance. Sharks I'd say are a bit lower at the moment since they are so on and off, impacting in stadium attendance. Stormers switched stadiums over the last ten years and it is is a decent switch in location which I think has player a role in lower attendance, but we have had a couple of 30k attendance games (with some during Covid restrictions where we could only fill 50% of stadiums). We should see some bigger attendances in the knock outs of URC (don't get any more home games as Stormers from here in CC since no other Saffas on our side and tourney rules) and fans are getting used to heading out that side of Cape Town.

The whole country has bought into these tournaments. The URC as well. Look we in a crap spot financially as a country, but rugby wise this has been embraced by SA and I'm pretty sure in The long run, the NH will benefit from this. It aint coincidence NZ became mortal once the SA teams left super rugby. We kept them honest. Aus and Fiji teams can't do that.

Mad how he re invigorated his career.
I've been saying in this North London pub how he needs to be a constant starter for the Springboks or at the very least in the starting 23. A consistent game changer that always pitches up in the big games (see the URC final last year)

Felt at the time if Quins had scored at the end of half time it would have potentially changed the game.

Thought the same but didn't want to jinx it by saying that. Last 10 minutes of the first half turned out to be the difference in the game.

It's just growing pains for the EU teams coming here. Once they used to it our SA teams have to be way better. Same reason we get smashed playing there.
