Stade Marcel Michelin - 12/01/13 - 19.00

Seeing the Frogs underestimate Exe is almost as funny as when the [strike]former Munster soon to be Ulster[/strike] Leinster support do the same.

Clermont will win, bylut Exe are ****** off after losing their home run and will want to give the favourites a bloody nose. They're at their best when they're underdogs.

Nobody is under estimating the class of Exeter, bare facts show that 53 teams have to Clermont and lost including Leinster, Toulon Montpellier and many others Exeter will probably give their best but it will not be good enough once you have been to Clermont and seen a game you will understand why they have gone 53 games without defeat against the best !!!!

My dear [strike]roastbeef[/strike] english friend,
can you explain where you see "understimation" of Exeter in my post ?

I think he was referring to Post No 3.

Then, I don't think it is underestimation, saying that basically Exeter, newbie in HC, may be easier to play than Leinster, multiple winner...especially when ASM already won there.
Exeter can win it of course, for sure someone will beat ASM at Michelin one day !

Chiefs are a good side, they won't go down without a fight.
Clermont can get four tries if they go in ready to work for it, but Exeter won't make it easy. (Not like the gutless turk performance)

@TRF_Olyy: Do you remember when Sale beat Clermont in Clermont?

Must have been Sale's greatest ever European performance. They didn't just win, but win comfortably 32-15 with a try bonus point and kept Clermont tryless, the first try on the video by Doherty is immense. Clermont haven't lost a Heineken Cup match at the Stade Marcel Michelin since then. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/7655298.stm

Apart from this performance though Sale always underachieved with their good side in Europe.

They fought all the way in a very entertaining game but Clermont were just too good.........By rights, the Final should be between ASM and Toulon or Saracens to my mind and would like to see as good a game as this one ffor the final!

Exeter become victim no. 54 of consecutive home victories by the serial killers of Clermont !!!
who said "Chiefs will win, you heard it here first" in your dreams!!!!!

Yesterday saw some vintage Regan King passing skills to create a try for Fofana, still has the passing skills we remember from his days at Scarlets. Gets more out of the rest of the Clermont backline than Rougerie does actually. Rougerie and Byrne being injured actually has meant they have been replaced by two better attacking players.

... if hadn't played 1 game for All Blacks in 2002 he could have played for Wales ...
