Halloween..

suppose when it's a proper part of your culture you care about it a bit more, sure there's plenty of Irish still apathetic to it though.

I agree with you this must be part of your culture. In France this last decade they started celebrating Halloween but this was mainly commercial and in the end this attempt is failing there's less and less people celebrating it even among the children. This is out of scope.

It was only really Erasmus students who were doing anything about Hallowe'en in France when I was there, probably the same this year, nothing from the locals that I noticed. It's not surprising that it's not taken the interest cause it's not really a commercial holiday which was what the French seemed to be trying.

oh yeah guy fawkes, i think i will get no fireworks again this year (dont like that dont see the point of burning money away where i can just look out the window)[/b]

Why is it that the rest of the planet celebrates Guy Fawkes night?

Because we like Fire.... and nothing is funner than an excuse to legally set off fireworks.

Australia doesn't do it though.

Happy pointless festival.

That's why I celebrate Guy Fawkes. Okay, just a joke.

Great story behind it, though.

It's basically because fireworks are f***ing awesome. And it makes more sense than say, adopting 4th of July as a day where its acceptable to make explosions and ****.

more like illegaly. the only legal part is buying them. people always do illegal lighting of fireworks and you kinda have to since they banned all the good ones. new years is much better for fireworks.

my god lora, arent u the resident cynic... i bet u hate halloween because of the bloody kids who keep coming back for candy. well, u can always just threaten to give them veggie bars

wrap little lumps of **** in aluminium foil and freshen it up with deo, and dump em in their baskets! its potpurri of sweets!

well I can kiss goodbye to this years hallowe'en, just back from the doctor's and have been put on a course of antibiotics for this chest infection, would have been a great night out as well, but if I can't drink and I'm feeling this bad there's not much point in going out, oh well at least there's champions league on tonight

On Saturday me and Anne went to a fancy dress at our local pub (dressed as a Scream psycho and a witch respectively)...we then walked home through a supposedly haunted wood....nowt supernatural happened though.

Happy Halloween (especially to all you goth freaks who think this is "your" christmas)!
It wouldn't be Halloween if we didn't get to see Michael Jackson's Thriller. If the above isn't embeded (because I've never got the whole embeding youtube thing right on this forum) then the link below will take you to it.
Cheers!
