Guinness Pro 12 2016/17: Round 7

Just watched the red card in the Glasgow game, neither of the cards deserved, IMO.

Very harsh... looks like he's got a big temper on him though, needs to get that sorted.

So Edinburgh has been getting alot of credit recently by the media just for this. Fantastic Edinburgh good job....

Its seems to be a trend with Scottish clubs recently one team will get a nice win and the other loses to teams they should be beating.

As long as Scotland beats Argentina and Georgia, the fallout from Zebre should be manageable, right?

It'll be manageable regardless really. Edinburgh underperforming is nothing new. Not such a shock though I guess. Zebre did well away from home against the Dragons and their coach Guidi seems decent despite the continued trend of occasional complete capitulations. Canna is solid at 10 and Venditti is hitting top form (but was bizarrely overlooked by O'Shea for autumn tests).

This is exactly the sort of result Zebre need if they are to make the progression to a six or seven win club. One down, ugh, five to go.

F**k we're mince.

and brainless. Utterly brainless.

Credit to the Munster pack as well as Scannell and Taute. They managed to get a win despite playing with possibly the worst 9-10 combo I've ever seen live.

Nice contest shaping up in Dublin. Starting to think Connacht might not have cared about losing McGinty seeing the way Carty is developing at 10. Interesting to see a lot of kicking from Connacht to counter Leinster's high defence. Doing it well too. Connacht do look weaker in the forwards than last season though which may be their undoing.

Good win for Leinster.

Its amazing how they can pull in so many academy guys and they can do the job almost as well as their first team.

Unlike us lot.

Good win for the Scarlets at the Arms Park.

Cardiff showing that they have less depth than a puddle haha. Playing three 6's in the backrow was a major mistake, provided no go forward and the Scarlets set wide defensively, which limited the Cardiff's attack greatly. Cardiff finished the game with a forward in the backs due to lack of cover / injuries. Positive was that a few of the younger front row players looked very good.

Another interesting referee at the Arms Park for both sides, although this time it didn't really effect the outcome of the game. The Shingler incident happened right in front of me lol. As well as not giving a pen try for Cardiff after 5 defensive infringements by the Scarlets at the scrum at the 5m line was also slightly baffling.

Sitting pretty at the top just on time to be ****ed over by internationals leaving!

Didn't see the game, anything of note?
Connacht started well but the game seemed to turn when Craig Ronaldson went off. The Leinster pack took over from then on.

Hard to pick out individuals. Dan Leavy continued his impressive form. Adam Byrne looked lively in attack. Isa was Isa. The centres were very good. Thought Rory O'Loughlin read things really well in midfield and snuffed out a lot of danger.

For Connacht, Jack Carty has come on hugely over the last few weeks. Delahunt picked an excellent line for his try. O'Halloran is fantastic to watch with ball in hand.

Nice to hear the young names come up multiple times! When Isa goes it might be slightly different!

Actually thought Duncan Williams had a good game. Had one or two brain farts, but in general he passed well, sniped to good effect and made a whole load of tackles. His box kicking is extremely weak but that can be worked on. He's done everything he can to develop as a player. Lot of respect for a guy who chases his dream that hard.
Other positives. Kilcoyne was immense. Made yards on every carry, and carried a whole lot. My man of the match by a mile. He's putting his hand up for an Irish jersey if Healy doesn't perform. Perfect player to bring off the bench for impact and tempo. Scannell was excellent again. Ice running through his veins to step up and take that droppy. Taute was a serious find. The type of player who fits the Munster bill perfectly. Plays with a lot of aggression and emotion. Hope he sticks around, as he's already attracting a lot of love in Munster. Ryan had another good game. He's very fit and gets through serious work for a tighthead.
We conceded two soft enough tries. Some of the individual defensive blunders were bad, but the defensive systems, line speed and reads were very good. We showed a lot of self belief and confidence with the ball to come back from a two try deficit. Genuinely don't believe we would have had the confidence or leadership to have done that last season.

Unexpected dip in form for the Blues and Ulster in recent weeks after both looking almost the pick of the league. Great depth for Leinster should see them strong through the international period (although no Healy and Cronin will make a difference).

UPDATE: Langilangi Haupeakui is free to play after disciplinary panel determine that neither yellow card received last Friday was warranted

Great.

Wasn't even marginal - good to see some rational analysis by the disciplinary panel.
