Largely because Small Paul is so far off the needed quality its not funny, despite a fair amount of big game time. Just too erratic, apart from one purple patch, and that doesn't look like ever changing.

That's exactly part of my point though. Some can live off potential with not playing. And some are tipped but don't make it.
My example Munster beat Aus in 2010. 1 man was named MotM and tipped to be future Lion by some media. Another was barely mentioned and tipped to maybe drift to lower leagues in France/England. 1 got playing time and cemented his place as a starter and improved largely due to playing time. The others doing an internship now in Washington and left the game through his own choice.
